I have three main places I play but the actual place closest for me is griffins grill at 4.46 miles. I could be persuaded to play a few from home if the mileage was relaxed a bit and the computer is still running.

Sat. 3/21 numbers:

CDs around happy hour about 150 players.
Sports 97
8pm eastern CD 106
Playback 25 !! new low for a prime game. 2nd place score 14,200. Scores not in the Hall of Fame, same as Spotlight, too few to bother.
Late CDs in the 70s range.

A 20 Mile app radius could go a long way toward keeping players engaged in this time of trying to stay home.

NTN currently at $1.35 down almost 50% in the last month. Taking reverse splits into account, the high was $185 about 15 years ago. Can’t help but wonder if this is what finally pushes them over the edge as they won’t be getting any ad revenue for the foreseeable future. I hope not.

Yes, the restaurant closings are very bad for Buzztime. I was hoping most of the ad time for the next month or so was already paid for, after that probably not.

As for the stock price a month ago it was 2.10 on 2/24, today at 1.35. (down 14.5% today) So that's 75 cents. By my math that's only 35.7%. Before today it was only down 21%. That's better than many stocks over the last month, still Very bad, but not 50%.

I am trying to avoid all the anticipatory schadenfreude.

I assume all of us are on this site as we are devoted to the game. I wish Buzztime nothing but the best regardless of BWW or the black plague.

Maybe someone with deep pockets will buy them. Or, they will go under and we will find something else.

Was playing an on-line national game from home on Sunday and the moderator did refer to End Times once too oftern, maybe.

Everybody stay well, which is statistically likely.

A team member sent me this:

I was asked to do a financial summary of Buzztime's situation, and I will most likely get that done tomorrow, but I think this one
statement from Buzztime management in its Form 10-K says it all:

"As a result of the accelerated payments required on our term loan, and taking into account our current financial condition and our existing sources of revenue,
our management concluded there is substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern through March 19, 2021." (page 19)

Accounting firms on behaf of clients do have to form an opinion on if they think a company is a "Going Concern". Meaning is a company in any danger of liquidation in the next 12 months. So, there's no way to say that the next 12 months are free of that possibility for buzztime, so that must be mentioned to cover themselves.

If any of you would like to see Buzztime's 10-K for yourself, here it is:

https://buzztime.gcs-web.com/static-files/c70fffc1-9409-4970-a6f8-9087f4d2ad6b

It describes how much Buzztime lost when they lost BWW. Hint: they've fired almost half their employees since then, and that ad revenue is not the cavalry, or even a horse.

It leaves you with a far more pessimistic feeling about this company's continued existence than their conference calls.

In the good old days of MaryC and Wheelie, they might have acted as our current representative. Buzztime would have seen our arguably small response and started heavily thinking about BT Lite. If they could monetize their App offering via 30 second ads, maybe they could step off their last dime and limp toward profits? I'm in.

Or, if 1,000 Buzztime players pooled their stimulus checks, we could probably buy controlling interest in the company. :D

I wonder how many of us would be willing to pay a monthly subscription to play from home on our phones.

I'm thinking ads between games would be better. Take over for the out of business HQ in the mobile trivia app space.

I know I would, although it might be hard to compete with the free trivia games out there.

I’d pay for it right now, even though everybody else can get it absolutely free.

I would also pay if it would keep the game going. I also play online some, but I pay so I can play more games and it shows no ads. The games are usually good quality too.

For anyone who played Topix last night, was it a new category or a repeat? Just curiosity, since buzztime didn't update the Topix page for this week's game.

547 players played Topix last night, but only 15 played Spotlight. Too bad buzztime never got around to putting the non-Six premium games on the app.

Topix was Disney Movies last night. It was new to me as I hadn't played on a Friday in a very long time. Disney Movies wasn't on the list of any recent games. Thur. night was California also not listed online but was new.

On a related note, the Headliner on Playback last night was supposed to be "Current Country" and it wound up being "Jay-Z". I didn't notice the final number of players.

At Stained Glass Pub Silver Spring MD we had 6 players for PB but the game crashed on the 1st Q of round two. The game had been new up to then, not a repeat of the Jay Z game which we did play BCV. OPIEE was looking forward to a Country headliner round.

The BT website says 632 players so that's pretty decent. I guess the crash we had was a Stained Glass Pub problem not the whole network. After the crash we had 2 CDs with rankings where SGP was 1 of 1. Didn't play after that so don't know if things returned to normal.

Lunchtime is running fine now, so who knows, some kind of disconnect.

The wife and I played playback from home last night. We had no issues playing and saw leader boards. I believe Jay Z was a repeat game or at least a repeat headliner round from February. We will most likely play it from home again until the situation here in the greater LA/OC area eases up.

The California Topix game on Thurs smelled like a repeat from some time back.

Played at home last night. At first, the App listed all the places in town and then told me that some were too far away when I clicked on them. Later, it game me a list of only those within 'the 20 mile limit' and then listed them all as 0.0 miles from me, regardless of how far they were. Gmes worked fine.

Except....I played on line at an old board place and Ask It Already and Speed Freaks (two games I like) were not available.

I for one would pay a subscription fee.

I played last night. Six and Topix were repeats of recent games (games that aired within the last month).
