Hello, everyone! It's been awhile.
I've officially begun bar prep WHILE finishing law school AND starting a new job with way more responsibility (I've gone Corporate). I haven't played BT in approximately forever, but I thought of you guys today.
Trivia players are charmingly enthusiastic about esoteric things and I'm the kind of person who is extremely susceptible to contagious enthusiasm. So, are any of you super-excited about the Hayes-Tilden Election of 1876? My Election Law professor said it is essential to understanding Bush v. Gore, but I have zero problem understanding Bush v. Gore. I just listened to an hour-long podcast about the 1876 election, and I don't get why he said that. Do any of you happen to be passionate about American Election Law?
Side note: My professor is from Australia and he keeps favorably comparing Australian law to American law. But he moved here, became a citizen, and loves American law enough to teach it, so I give him a pass on his lack of professed patriotism. He is less than compelling except for his accent. I also had him for Property Law and was initially confused about why there were so many porn shop property law cases. Australians like adding "r"s where they don't belong.

I would be happy to discuss this with you any time--I do spend a lot of time on this when I teach classes dealing with that era. Let me know.
