I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate our fellow Fellowshipper KSEK for her win on tonight's Jeopardy! broadcast. It was an exciting game right up to the end. We are so happy for her and look forward to seeing her at the defending champion podium on Monday.

Way to go!!!Unfortunately, Jeopardy was preempted today on channel 11 in the great state of Minnesota as Novak Djokovic wins a great match against Rafael Nadel.Djokovic if he wins Sunday will have
19 major wins one short of the record 20 shared by Nadel and Roger Federer.Final match is 8 a.m Sunday live on NBC.I will tune in for Jeopardy Monday hoping for a winning streak.

Good for her for making an intelligent wager from a close second place unlike the suicide all-in wager we see from so many strategy impaired contestants.

The weird part for her is going to be having to switch hosts after one game. Once you get the rhythm of how a host reads the clues, it’s much easier to have the correct timing on the signaling device.

Hoping to see GTO daily double wagers. Retro good luck!

Yes, I thought that was well-done. She also explained her genuinely otherwise inexplicable error on the joint question on her Twitter feed after the game:

"I said the word 'joint', which I was looking at on the screen, instead of the correct response in my head. 'Was it because you were so nervous under the lights, Katie?' No. I promise you that I do that kind of thing at home as well."

Win #2, very nice. And once again due to a proper wager from behind going into FJ. Seemed to have issues early on, possibly due to a new host and rhythm. Wasn't thrilled with the DD wager, but admittedly it was a tough situation to judge with everybody in the mix at a tough point of the game with DD3 still on the board.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game.

She has a way of keeping it interesting, to be sure. I suspected the low DD wager had something to do with the category, and her wisdom in the low wager was borne out by the result.

We are going to have the Red Fox TV tuned to Jeopardy! tomorrow night at 7:30 so we can all watch together before BB. There may be drinking involved. :)

Another win, very nice. Picked a good time to be in the lead going into FJ with the gimme clue.

If these games were taped day of air we would be having a serious game theory discussion regarding DD wagering.

Hopefully everybody at Red Fox is plastered by now!

Looking forward to tomorrow’s episode.

Way to go Katie. Excellent plan of staying within striking range in the 1st couple games, wagering low on DD categories she wasn’t excited about. Then getting out in front last night as she got used to Savanna’s speed on the clues.

Was she sitting there last night at the Red Fox with a big smile, as her game started, trying not to give away another win?

Did she mention plans on buying new cars or homes?

It was so fun to watch KSEK’s third win at Red Fox last night as she shared behind-the-scenes insights into the game as she remembered it. The place erupted when her final answer was revealed—in winning, she more than doubled her take from her two previous wins combined. Whatever happens tonight we are so proud of her for her successful run.

In retrospect, I think I should have asked if she wanted to pick up the tab for the team last night.

Sad to see the good run come to an end. Sometimes you just blank on a trivia nugget you know, happens to everybody. Had second place not answered correctly she could have back doored a win because of second’s dreadful FJ wager.

Congrats!

Indeed. I got the impression last night that she was justly pleased with her run.

Thanks to you and BUD for your warm wishes. I will pass them along the next time I see her.

For those who are interested, here is the Akron Beacon Journal's coverage of KSEK's appearance--both an article and a podcast:
