New Scaratings

I have a draft coming up, and thought it may be fun to have some discussions on my league and the players and season in general. I'll follow with the league scoring rules, and rosters.

Scoring:
Scoring for Offensive Categories
FG - Field Goals 3 points
Plus 2 points for a FG of 50+ Yds

FL - Fumble Lost, Including ST plays -2 points
Pa2P - Passing Two-point Conversion 2 points
PaInt - Passing Interception -2 points
PaTD - Passing TD 6 points
PaYd - Passing Yards 0+ PaYds = 1 point for every 25 PaYds

Re2P - Receiving Two-point Conversion 2 points
ReTD - Receiving TD 6 points
ReYd - Receiving Yards 0+ ReYds = 1 point for every 10 ReYds

Ru2P - Rushing Two-point Conversion 2 points
RuTD - Rushing TD 6 points
RuYd - Rushing Yards 0+ RuYds = 1 point for every 10 RuYds

XP - Extra Points 1 point

Scoring for Defensive Categories
DFR - Defensive/ST Fumble Recovered (ID/DT/DST) 2 points
DTD - Total Defensive and Special Teams TD 6 points
Int - Interceptions 2 points
PA - Points Against, Total Points Scored 0 - 6 PA = 8 points
7 - 13 PA = 6 points
14 - 20 PA = 4 points
21 - 27 PA = 2 points

SACK - Sack 1 point
STY - Safety 2 points
YDS - Yards Allowed 0 - 49 YDSs = 12 points
50 - 99 YDSs = 10 points
100 - 149 YDSs = 8 points
150 - 199 YDSs = 6 points
200 - 249 YDSs = 4 points
250 - 299 YDSs = 2 points

I'm drafting fourth of 12 to start; the draft is serpentine, ie I will draft 4th the first round and 9th the second round (the 21st overall pick etc.)

With no bonuses except 50+YD FGs, and touchdowns by run, throw, and receive all equal at 6 points, there is no bias toward one position, or the ability to explode with a 200 yd running game or a 400 yd passing game.

I consider the 10 yds receiving / rushing to be fair in comparison to the 25 yds passing.

So, I consider it a pretty wide open draft of available positions and personnel.

I'm assuming Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson will be gone by the time I pick.

From the fourth spot you're probably looking at Ray Rice or Maurice Jones Drew. You might want to check out this site, they're constantly running mock drafts so you can get a feel for how drafts go and who's generally available at your spot. I use it a lot to prepare for my drafts. http://fantasyfootballcalculator.com/

I've seen a lot of mock drafts already that had Drew in the third spot, and seen some Michael Turners in the fourth along with Ray.

I might go to Drew if he's available, but I certainly will entertain Drew Brees or Peyton Manning there. Maybe even Aaron Rodgers.

In my other league with the Indigo Joe guys including Tim and Dante, I got Drew Brees fifth and Frank Gore 19TH !

I was happy, to say the least.

Well, if nothing else, this goes a long way to corroborate your bar's success at Sci-Files...

I also have Arian Foster in my Indigo Joes league, with Brees and Gore.

Is he related to Al?

I ended up winning this league.

That was my best team ever with Miles Austin, Dwayne Bowe and T.O at receivers, Arian Foster Ahmad Bradshaw and Mlke Tolbert (after Gore went down) at RB; Big Ben backing up Brees at QB, Patriots D and a mix of backups and tight ends. Won my division at 11-1, lost a playoff game to Crackhead.

Just lost the championship game of my league this year.
$1000 first place prize right down the ol' drain.
I suspected trouble when I lost Gore and Gates towards the end of the regular fantasy season.
c 'est la vie...

Made the championship in two out of five leagues... lost 'em both - one to my brother.. There's always next year..
