At Mr. B's. And the question is, does Buzztime have the digits for it? :D

(Yeah, yeah, yeah, questionable point glitches, blah blah blah. We've (and he's) heard it all before. Take it with however many grains of salt you want to. Still gonna be fun to see. Oh, and he IS one of the best players in the country, of course.)

Well it will be interesting to see even if the number is over inflated. Actually 4 of the top 5 have inflated numbers.

Given some of Buzztime's IT woes, I just hope the entire system doesn't come to a grinding halt. :D

Yes, he finally did it and it couldn't have been a better game as Spotlight is one of his favorite. Good job Darrell!

We made it through Y2k without a major hitch.

100M PP+ didn't crash buzztime.

Not sure which impresses me more. ;)

So what should he REALLY have, out of curiosity? Where was he when the mysterious extra 0 appeared at the end?

REALLY Jethro?? Honestly I don't know; my rate of play has fluctuated wildly in the time since the point boost, my best guesstimate is somwhere btwn 28-32M . . .

And thanks again MR ALE and GOGETM for being awesome friends and teammates . . .

It was a lot earlier than that. I didn't know the game existed at that time.

I seem to remember years and years ago that there was a mysterious 23 Million P+P boost that was given to some people (I think that was the number ... this was probably back around 1999/2000 or so, and I wasn't one of those who got it, so I'm probably off). That's probably what Darrell is talking about (or one of the things ... there may have been more than one!)

What I recall from the "23 million day" was that everyone who played on that one day got 23 million added to their P+ points.
The 23 million was subtracted back off everyone's account a few weeks later except for a few players. One of which seems to be Darrell. Not sure how a couple of people fell through the cracks, maybe they transferred to another bar the day of the fix and missed the subtraction?

No big deal because these points aren't worth a damn.

Darrell is a great guy and has always been the 1st to admit there was an accounting error that no one really cares about.
Bottom line is he has been playing forever and is one of the best no matter how many P+ he has.

However, the extra P+ do make up for the fact that he's a little height challenged.

I believe it was 1998 or early 1999. I was still living in Cincinnati at the time.

I think that it happened in early February 1999; Late winter of that year at any rate
I played that night, but my pp totals never changed.
My buddies SHMEKL and PROF were the only two at Damon's 34 that
received the boost. It was not a straight across the board 23M point addition.
And when some accounts were "fixed" the extra points actually doubled or tripled. Most were eventually corrected, but not all.
I wish BT had their website in those days.
Oh, the glorious clamoring...

There are BB posts about the snafu starting in November of 1998.

There was a site in the DFW area as late as 2005 that had ~8 players who had not had the 23MM deducted from their accounts. Eventually, it was corrected, which seems really weird, correcting that a full 7 years later.

We were playing at JJ Muldoons in Nov. '98 and everyone who played that day or evening got the 23M. All of us also had the 23M subtracted later. All other players I talked to in the DC area had the same experience, if you played that day you got the 23M no exceptions that I ever heard of. No one around here missed the "fix" either. The highest P+ in the area is DAMAN at the Grand Slam/Fast Eddies DC, all of his 28M is legit.

The deal certainly did piss all the people off ,for a month, who didn't play on that 23M day. They got the last laugh when all was reset.

Was this when the Players Plus points were still "worth" anything?

I'm thinking the catalog lasted no more than two years, maybe through the end of 1996.

I think you are close, I thought it lasted until 1997 but I have nothing to back up my foggy recollection
