The other day, I don't know must have been a couple of weeks there was a question, paraphrased of course: What movie's opening sequence is inside an air traffic control tower, answer Close Encounters of the Third Kind.. Then later in the same day I see the opening scene of Close Encounters takes place here, answer Senoran Desert.

Was I high when I saw these two questions in a span of a couple of hours, and does anyone else remember it also?

The reason I ask is I am watching it right now and it clearly starts in the Desert... Was any footage added to the beginning of the movie?

Thanks,

I found the original script online, and it does have the film opening in an air-traffic control tower. But original scripts have a way of changing quite dramatically so I've set that question aside and kept the Sonoran Desert one.

Thanks for catching the error. I'm surprised no one caught it before.

Wow TomD, that was quick. Very glad you're monitoring here and cleaning up what you can in the database. Thanks.

On that note, have no idea if you saw these Brainbuster errors from three weeks ago. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=765

Yes, I saw those. :(
For some reason, I thought modem was an acronym.
The date on the Dickens question got typed in wrong, 1825 instead of 1852.

Thanks again for pointing out the errors.

According to the wikipedia article on Close Encounters, the Flight 19 scene in the desert was added in reshoots, which lends credence to your script change theory.
