Earlier tonight, while trying to clean up the songs I've ripped to Windows Media Player on my computer, I ran across an album where all of the songs and artists showed up as "unknown". The title of the CD showed up as "70's Mix", a title that I had no recollection of. So I spent more than a couple minutes to try to figure out what the hell was on it. I finally got them all after a lot of work, and gosh darn they were pretty damn good. Here are five that I think you will enjoy:

1- "Lola" by the Kinks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVXmMMSo47s

2- "The Show Must Go On" by Three Dog Night

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMfMlu5AAGA

3- "You Know What I Mean ?" by Lee Michaels

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fymw5ie9Zd4

4- "Magic" by Pilot

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iiryJwvDtc

5- "Cover of the Rolling Stone" by Dr. Hook

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ux3-a9RE1Q

I decided to just scroll down through my collection of ripped CDs and picked out five that I thought were pretty good. Here they are:

1- "Bo Diddley" by Bo Diddley (I saw him perform live twice.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMZjAOoX6nw

2- "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6UAYGxiRwU

3- "Chains" by The Cookies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6c6ULCZjNQ

4- "Step by Step" by The Crests

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jbtTTcnXV0

5- "I Wanna Love My Life Away" by Gene Pitney

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdJanyE1Z0c

(I'd say that's a pretty eclectic group of songs that I picked out with no reason other than, "Yeah, that was a good one.")

p.s. I listen to every song that I put up here, before I post them. Most of them bring back great memories.

p.p.s. If I put a song up here that you have never heard before, do yourself a favor and listen to it. :D

"The Slightly Famous Limeliters Sign Out" is a great CD, and I highly recommend it. Here are five songs from it that I think you will really like:

1- "Gun Slinger"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oWZwCO0qrk

2- "Harry Pollitt" (Possibly my favorite song on the CD.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIaRyaQw4N0

3- "Vikki Dougan"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hie9muEMWEw

4- "Westward Wind"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_M1hyHf9Eg

5- "Hard Ain't it Hard"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8wCzFbbWPc

(Had to change my five song list, because I couldn't find all of the songs I wanted to on the Internet. I'm especially disappointed that I couldn't find the Limeliters song "Marvin" to share with you. Hell, if you like the five I put up here, go out and buy the CD so you can hear all 24 songs that are on it, including "Marvin".)

Come on guys and gals, with as many CD's that I have, and new ones coming in every day, I could post 5 new songs every day until I bored you and myself to death. Perhaps I've already done this, and if so I'm very sorry. I'm gonna stop posting to this thread until someone else puts up their 5 songs to put a breath of new life into the "Last 5 Song Thread Redux". I hope someone steps up to the plate, because I would hate to see this thread wither on the vine.

I listened to them. I liked the Beatnix. I didn't care for Chris Eckman's rendition of "Yellow Submarine". The Leisure Society's recording of "Something" was pretty good. Keep 'em coming. :D

Jim, I listened to them all. Great music...! Out of curiosity, how did you ever find these fairly obscure songs?

p.s. I know that "If I Didn't Care" by the Ink Spots isn't obscure, and I'm pretty sure I have that song.

"Fred Astaire, The Essential Collection" CD. It's a two CD set with 58 songs on it. Fred wasn't all that bad, and here are five songs from it:

2- "Cheek to Cheek"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLIMZ-gKyF0

Here are five from all different directions...

1- "Shout Shout (Knock Yourself Out)" by Ernie Maresca (Ernie wrote many of Dion's hit songs, including "Runaround Sue".)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxDRIaxSDB0

2- "Wings of a Dove" by Ferlin Husky

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GH3PHgSNk4

3- "Primrose Lane" by Jerry Wallace

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-BeWqAA5rM

4- "Shotgun" by Junior Walker & The All-Stars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI7CtxlisCk

5- "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" by Laurie London

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpD_Ss5c2zs

Go ahead and listen to them. You might find one that you like. :D

(I'd say that this is a pretty eclectic five, and in some cases a wee bit obscure.)

Because I'm in a prankish mood today , here are five cheesy songs that I'm going to share with you.
