Say, Cloudy, I got a question. If the President deems that he’s got to torture somebody, including by crushing the testicles of the person’s child, is there any law that can stop him?

You have posed an extreme hypothetical question. I believe the answer would be that doing something like that would be in violation of most all legal codes , including those of God and humanity. Can someone be prevented from doing something as horrible as you have described by law? Sadly, the answer is no. If laws could stop people from committing crimes, there would be nobody in prison today.

p.s. I doubt Obama or any American president would ever order such a thing.

You seem to be on top of this stuff, and I don't think there is much I can add to what you already know or think. However, if you listened to Pinetta's comments, it sure sounds like waterboarding was a factor in finding out where Osama was hiding out. The mainstream media interviewer had to ask repeated questions, before Pinetta finally told the truth.

p.s. There are probably a lot more people we will hear on the mainstream media, who would like to deny its truth.

I've actually seen several print stories, each side claiming credit on the issue. Some claim that waterboarding helped. Others claim that waterboarding did absolutely no good and other methods were the reason.

It's absolutely no surprise that it turned political immediately after we got him. Politics is a 24/7 game.

About the only time this country fully unites together anymore is in time of a natural disaster or a tragic event. And even that unity doesn't last long anymore as even something like Katrina turned political very quickly in the days that followed.

Politicians are so concerned with catering to their constituents, and getting reelected, that they will seldom agree with the other side, even when they know that the other side is right, and it is for the best. Yes, they will unite for a while, when a crisis demands that the right thing be done. However, once the crisis is over, they will return to their partisan ways. They will kick the can down the road, even if they know that it is only postponing an inevitable disaster. Most only care about getting reelected, and as long as the disaster occurs after they are dead or retired, they don't give a shit.

They just want votes today.

Yes, and I'm not surprised. What does surprise me is that the Seals didn't a case of beer and a couple bottles of Maker's Mark lying around the place also. Osama bin Laden wasn't a God fearing Muslim. He was a very strange, angry person, and probably nuts. (As we all know, Islam frowns on porn.)

How about kiilling innocent women and children to advance Islam for an answer...?

Osama bin Laden's followers are just as strange, angry, and nuts as he was. I don't think they are going away just because Osama is dead.

p.s. Better judgement just told me to delete a post about this, that would have gotten me in a lot of trouble.
