Oh shit... I left out the "K" in "Lucky". However, I'm not going to go back and correct my goof up, because it would be wrong for me to try to destroy the evidence of SPOTES's wonderfully funny comment on my goof up. Others should be allowed to read what SPOTES was referring to as it was written.

SPOTES has a talent that he uses to point out other's stupidity that doesn't piss them off. He does it in a way that actually makes them laugh at themselves.

I believe this is the Lucy grape crushing scene from the "I Love Lucy" TV show episode "Lucy's Italian Movie" that SPOTES was referring to:

http://gloria.tv/?media=183523

p.s. Mussolini was long gone, and World War II was over before Lucy invaded Italy, and tried to start it all over again.

ICEMAN, you jumped in too soon once again, while I was editing my post.

Just so you don't miss it, here is what I was about to add:

"Finding Forrester" (2000) starring Sean Connery is a wonderful movie that has dropped off the radar screen. If you haven't seen this film, I strongly suggest that you do. I think you will find it to be one of the best movies you have ever seen, even though it isn't going to show up on any of those top 100 lists. Watch it, and I think you will thank me for this recommendation. :D

Here's the trailer:

His "one word" post is for sure the first on this thread, but possibly the first "one word" post on the "Scaratings also...!

Back to "Memento".

I have never seen the movie, "Memento" (2000), but after Googling it, I understand that the film is highly acclaimed, and one I need to add to my ever growing collection and watch.

Here's one of the movie's trailers:

Twice tonight people, who know how to spell things, have helped me correct my spelling mistakes. In both cases, I went back and fixed them.

Thank you BO and YODA.

"Tank" (1984) starring James Garner isn't a great movie, but it's pretty good and a fun movie to watch. I doubt many of you have ever seen it, and I think that you might just enjoy it. I say, pick it up and watch it, most likely you will like it as much as I did all of those years ago.

Jenilee Harrison. Hubba! Hubba!
I believe her appearance in that movie might have inspired the return of the 3D movie craze...

"The Wild River" (1994) starring Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon is a movie that has dropped off the radar screen, but is well worth watching. It is an adventure movie full of suspence and action, and I think most of you will enjoy it. I did.

Here are two trailers for this movie:

Hell, I didn't know that Jenille Harrison was in "Tank". Had to Google it to find out that she was. By the way, who is Jenille Harrison anyway?

p.s. Great picture of the gal, ICEMAN.

"Moscow on the Hudson" (1984) starring Robin Williams is a movie that many of you probably have missed. This is not the typical Robin Williams movie that you might expect. Yeah, it has a lot of humor, but it has a lot of serious drama also. I think it was a darn good movie, and if you have never seen it, I highly recommend that you do. It is a great movie...!

"Paperhouse" (1988) is a very strange British dark fantasy movie. I doubt that anyone (including SPOTES) on the "ScaRatings" has ever seen it. I recommend it to those of you, who are brave enough to watch it, and just might find a British dark fantasy movie interesting. (Unlike many of my other recommendations, I think this film truly qualifies for being obscure...)

This thread need to be revived. So here is a movie that Probably few have seen: "The Gods Must Be Crazy". It is very funny even though it is dubbed into English from Afrikans. If you can find it, watch it.

Here's a better link that gives you an idea how the movie begins:

Frank, "The Gods Must be Crazy" (1980) is a great movie that I actually have in my library of movies, and I have watched it. Good recommendation. I believe that there are two "The Gods Must Be Crazy" sequels out there, neither of which I have ever seen. Yep, they are "II' and "III".

p.s. Frank, I thought that my "Paperhouse" recommendation was pretty damn obscure. Indeed, so obscure, that I almost didn't post it.

"I Married a Witch" (1942) starring Fredric March, Veronica Lake, Robert Benchley, and Susan Hayward is a pretty funny movie from a time that few (probably none) of us were yet born. There is a possibility that the TV series "Bewitched" may have borrowed the idea for the program from this movie.

Here's the trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IibXUTedLR4

I'm sure you can pick this movie up these days for a song. Go ahead and get it, watch it, and let me know if you think the TV series "Bewitched" might have some similarities to this movie.

There's also the possibility that the story of Jason and Medea might have just edged it out as an earlier inspiration for the concept by a scant 2200 years.
Woo hoo! Public domain!

Got one question. Can you get it on DVD, I'm done buying movies on VHS.

The Best Years Of Our Lives

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Best_Y ... _Our_Lives

Best Picture of 1946. It's a real glimpse post war America. It belongs here because so many trivia players I've known over the years that are professed movie buffs and can quote dates, awards and actors have never seen this movie.

I wonder how many people have watched Buzztime favorite The Bicycle Thief? Obscure gems get overlooked by their nature, but there are a number of big great films that are also being overlooked today.
