Not bad music, Jim. I listened to them all, and I'm embarrassed to admit that the only performer that I've ever heard of before was Jack Scott. Jimmy Patton sounded a lot like a white Little Richard. Where in the world did you find all of these songs?

p.s. Duane Eddy and Link Wray just played their guitars, and to the best of my knowledge never recorded a record where they sang.

p.p.s. NTN once had a trivia question, that asked, who sang the "Ballad of Paladin"? Their answer was Duane Eddy. NTN was wrong again. Duane Eddy did have a hit with the "Ballad of Paladin", however it was an instrumental, and Duane never sang a word. The correct answer would have been Johnny Western, who wrote and sang the theme song for the TV program.

Jim, It's become a little difficult to keep up with your blitzkrieg of music tonight. I did listen to all of them. I was familiar with a few of them. Some were pretty good. However, there were too many for me to comment on.

Here are five songs from the Limeliters' two albums ("The Slightly Fabulous Limeliters" and "Sing Out!") on one CD, which I ripped to my computer several days ago, but just listened to tonight. They were a folk group before most of you were born, but I think you will enjoy these songs. Here they are:

1- "Harry Pollitt"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIaRyaQw4N0

2- "Vikki Dugan"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hie9muEMWEw

3- "Gunslinger"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oWZwCO0qrk

4- "Pretty Far Out"

(No audio of this song could be found on the Internet.)

5- "Charmin' Betsy"

(No audio of this song could be found on the Internet.)

With the few you can hear without having the CD, it seems that these guys were not folk singers that only sang songs like "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" or "Kumbaya". Go ahead and listen to them, no matter how much you think that you won't like them. I think you might be pleasantly surprised, and enjoy the humor. :D

Gonna go country on this post, I picked up a bunch of great country CDs at the Goodwill store this afternoon.

1- "Weed with Willie" (Toby Keith & Scotty Emerick)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tJXjt5D4zY

2- "Blue Moon of Kentucky" (Boxcar Willie)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGKUto2t-j8

3- "One More Payment" (Clint Black)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpAPp-RFFIA

4- "Oh, Atlanta" (Alison Krauss & Union Station)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN6MdLwyHhU

5- "Kindly Keep It Country" (Vince Gill)

If you like music, and would like to add CDs to your collection, I would suggest that you go slumming and check out Goodwill, Salvation Army Family, and DAV (Disabled American Veterans) stores. You will find all sorts of music at these stores that isn't on the shelves at WalMart, old stuff, rare stuff, and stuff that you never dreamt of finding. All of their CDs are VERY inexpensive, and better yet, every dollar you spend at these places goes to support good causes. :D

It's an orchestral day today

Symphony No. 3 in C minor -- Camille Saint-Saëns
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1_EDzHRY7M
Popularly known as the Organ Symphony for the pipe organ's prominence in the final movement (despite that instrument only being played in the 2nd and 4th movements)

Charlie Brown Medley -- The Piano Guys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyPDQpel8bI
I first heard of these guys when they collaborated with Lindsey Stirling on a cover of the Mission: Impossible theme. They do Vince Guaraldi proud here

The Final Countdown -- Melo-M
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vawrp_gMXJs
Headbanging Latvian cellists. Definitely not a sentence you'll read every day

Crown Imperial -- Sir William Walton
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HnQtW5OdoE
Composed for the 1937 coronation of Edward VIII, this instead became the coronation march of George VI after the former abdicated his throne

Flight of the Bumblebee -- Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhQkWyWkbpk
I hope I can be this good when I'm 96

This is a great album, and I highly recommend it to everyone. I just ripped the CD to Windows Media Player on my computer, and here are the five I liked best:

1- "A World of Our Own"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dK8iomB8hrE

2- "Georgy Girl"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsIbfYEizLk

3- "We Shall Not Be Moved"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1Awug6zeMY

4- "The Wreck of the Old '97"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBSHLiLjwVA

5- "Whisky in the Jar"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9HlIfsEO1E

(Windows Media Player automatically put this album into the "Rock" genre... I edited that stupidity to put this Album into the "Folk" genre.)

"Roots of Country Music" is a two CD album with 30 great country songs on it. I picked it up this afternoon at Walmart for just $5.00 in their bargin bin of CDs.

Here are just five songs from "Roots of Country":

1- "Coal Miner's Daughter" by Loretta Lynn

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9eHp7JJgq8

2- "Help Me Make it Through the Night" by Charlie Pride

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDGcAfG6xc4

3- "Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town" by Kenny Rogers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ik5_5l0rOCk

4- "Rose Garden" by Lynn Anderson

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdSnwufjKtc

5- "White Lightning" by Waylon Jennings (Getting bumped from his seat on an airplane sure worked out for him.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRGQVElqZSA

(There are so many great songs on this album that I strongly recommend that you head out to Walmart tomorrow, and see if you can find it in their bargin bin.)

Here are five songs that I picked out from the CDs that arrived today. (It is a very eclectic list.)

1- "Tennessee Waltz" by Patti Page

2- "Theme from Shaft" by Isaac Hayes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFvRvSxsW-I

Earlier tonight while trying to clean up the songs I've ripped to Windows Media Player, I ran across an album where all of the songs and artists showed up as "unknown". The title of the CD showed up as "70's Mix", a title that I had no recollection of. So I spent more than a couple minutes to try to figure out what the hell was on it. I finally got them all after a lot of work, and gosh darn they were pretty damn good. Here are five that I think you will enjoy:

1- "Lola" by the Kinks

2- "The Show Must Go On" by Three Dog Night

3- "You Know What I Mean ?" by Lee Michaels

4- "Magic" by Pilot

5- "Cover of the Rolling Stone" by Dr. Hook
