Goodness gracious, I expected at least one of you guys could have come up with some songs you liked by now. However, seeing that it's been such a long time since my Glenn Miller threat, I feel that I have no choice but to keep my implied promise...

.................................................................................................. HERE'S GLENN MILLER...!

Come on guys, not only is this great music, but it is the music that your parents, or more likely your grandparents, loved and danced to during World War II. Glenn Miller and his band helped keep their morale up, while our country faced a challenge that sometimes seemed impossible to overcome. Glenn never came back from World War II, as after entertaining our troops in Europe, his plane crashed into the English Channel. (The plane has never been found.) So many years have passed that most everyone, who danced and sang to his music are now dead too. However, turning the clock back to a time when they were alive, full of fears, full of love, and full of hopes is a good thing to do, as we remember them and the music that was a part of their lives.

1- "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller

2- "Sunrise Serenade" by Glenn Miller

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrpk3Ww8U4I

3- "Juke Box Saturday Night" by Glenn Miller, Marion Hutton, Tex Beneke and The Modernaires

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK72A_eV8Lg

4- "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" by Glenn Miller, Marion Hutton, Tex Beneke and The Modernaires

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2iSaFW9HUk

5- "Pennsylvania 6-5000" by Glenn Miller

POMAN, a very eclectic five...

I listened to them all, and I think I liked Brad Paisley best, and Cat Stevens was a close second, but the others were good too.

Keep 'em comin'... :D

Ok then - five cover versions of songs that sound little or nothing like the originals (and mostly a cheap excuse to list a David Bowie song today).

1. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" - Tori Amos
2. "Heartbreak Hotel" - John Cale
3. "All Along the Watchtower" - Jimi Hendrix
4. "Satisfaction" - Devo
5. "I Can't Explain" - David Bowie

Never looked at this thread (or knew what "redux" meant, either). Well... Let's get unusual!

Henry Hall and his Orchestra - "I Like Bananas (Because They Have No Bones)"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FheJsQnLiOU

Harry Roy & His Bat Club Boys - "My Girl's Pussy"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_-U4oTTmQc

Benny Bell - "Shaving Cream"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8ffkDf0ol4&list=PLSYqP0RYxUY0TU5X8JIjIgT6yTH_jFdPM&index=9

Mel Blanc - Toot, Toot Tootsie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7qmI1gdofU

Okay, leaving my ancient-music world for a bit and heading toward the early 60's... Here's a cover of "The Martian Hop", originally done by the Ran-Dells in 1963.
This version is done by someone named Joanie Bartels with a lot of strange "help". :)
