Old age is only in young peoples' minds. Once you make it past 60, there are no longer any old farts. No matter what year you and they were born in, you now see each other as being the same age. In time you might understand this.

p.s. Al probably had me by a few years back in our college days, but he could put the brewsklis down with the rest of us. He would never drink domestic beers, and always ordered fancy brew that came from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or the Netherlands.
