I agree with Cloudy. We particularly need to remember the tragedy of the youngsters he defiled.

While I don't particularly wish anything bad upon him, I also have zero pity for him. Regardless of what he did or didn't do before, he was incredibly ignorant with his actions regarding his probation. His latest actions weren't evil, but a clear violation of his probation and I can't believe he is that stupid that he didn't realize that they were. It is not that hard to not be on Facebook and Twitter and post pictures of yourself. A "trivia guru" needs to be smarter.

RANGER and TOLLE, I agree with you both. After what I have read on other posts, I must assume that the accusations are true. Not only is this story terribly sad, but it is also portrays a person, who has made extremely foolish decisions in how he conducted his life. I don't think any of us need to beat him down anymore here. He has already beaten himself very far down, and if I had to guess the law will finish the job.

If he downloaded them intentionally or it really was an accident/hidden in the file. That was partly why he stuck around. It sounds believable that someone could accidently download it like a hidden virus. It was 4 photos. Anyone who is a pedophile is going to have more than 4 photos, aren't they? The reason he took the plea deal is because he said he didn't have the money to fight the charges. He did lose his job, and the plea deal was his guarantee of freedom. He had to take mandatory classes, register as a sex offender for 20yrs. and stay out of trouble. He was never accused of being in the pressance of a minor.

Sorry, but it was a lot more than 4 pictures. You are telling his version of the accounts. I have said this a few times before. The guy is a con artist. A few of us on here have caught him making stuff up on this site. I am moving on and had enough of this topic. But, I leave with another warning that you should always think twice before you believe anything this guy says. The whole I've been an Ohio State fan since I was 13 is a load of crap. For years he did not have any Ohio State handles. But, he did have high school mascot handles. Sorry, but I have been playing trivia for a long time in several states and I have yet to see anyone use a high school handle over the age of 18. No, he has not been caught doing anything with a minor. But, it sure looks like he has been trying.

How many stories have you heard, I have heard 3 different ones about the initial problems? You will not be on the Child Pornography watch list, or be watched/investigated for unintentionally downloading 4 photos that were in one file on a P2P site. He had a virtual cornucopia of stuff, I don't know how much nor do I care. He wasn't going to have these problems if it truly WAS an accident.

Have you also heard the one where, he "left" the window down in his car and his old 'roommate' threw a CD full of stuff into the front seat, and then later that day they came and got him to search his car after an anonymous tip, really? I don't quite remember the 3rd, so I won't repeat it. At face value any of them could happen to anybody, but all 3, really?

The whole thing is disgusting..

I think at this point it's fair to say you shouldn't believe his stories.

CARDS, I believe you are right about the number of "Child Porn" videos he downloaded. As I understand it, he agreed to a plea bargain to a lesser number to stay out of prison. I do not believe any of his excuses of viruses attached to music downloads. I think he his more than likely guilty of what he has been convicted of. Though I still feel sorry for the guy, I am finished with this thread too.

I should just be done with this and not bother but I just want to get something straight. I was not and am not nor will I ever defend his actions past or present. Also I talked with someone knowledgeable about the circumstances of the original case and the it was describe as more than 4 pictures but less than 10. This info did not come from Eric. Also the orignal hard drive was destroyed by the state police and there may no longer be any evidence. It was destoyed in the belief that the case was closed 4 years ago.

Yeah not to continue to beat a dead horse but I searched with Google and Bing and all I found was the original news reports from May 2012. I don't know how you all found it or what I did wrong in searching.
I couldn't even find the interviews he did with the local NBC affiliate WSAZ.

I did drive past were he use to live today on my way to a doctor's appointment to see if he had done his Christmas decorations.
Other than his obsession with trivia, his other was elaborate Christmas decorations. He would enter every year into the city Christmas contest. He actually won once for best amateur and the banquet was on a Tuesday. He actually missed playing trivia to go and collect the plaque.
That was certainly a shock to the group that night. :lol:

Main reason is a I do go to Ashland on business a few times a year and I really don't want to run into the guy if I want to stop for lunch and play trivia. Otherwise, it was just to let people know he is out and might be playing trivia again. As far as the dead thread goes, the past is the past and I am not bringing that up again.
