Wasn't there an episode of House that had that same thing.... turned out the cat was just attracted to heat... like a wickedly bad infection inside a dying person's body..

The made for TV movie really doesn't do the epic poem justice.

I'd be mad at you over those Mass Effect 2 images if I hadn't just finished that part of the game I love the Mordin face out of context there in regards to Miranda.
