I was worried that it might mean something like that. You aren't making fun of my ignorance, are you...? I've got a feeling that you are joshing me, and it really means something else.

I'm making fun of you, Cloudy, but it's nothing too hateful. You just like bringing back threads that have been dormant for long periods of time. I actually find your Cloudyness entertaining, so don't take it too hard.

Really, Cloudy?

From 7/4/2012 on the Speed Freaks thread:

p.s. I'm old and don't get a lot of this Internet lingo. What does "bump a thread" mean?

"Bump a thread" means posting in a thread that has been dormant for a long time. For example, this thread hadn't been touched for a year until you posted a couple of days ago. It's not a good or bad thing necessarily, threads just normally get bumped for odd reasons.

If you're not going to pay attention to the answer, might I boldly suggest not asking the question.

A little funning, that's okay with me... Hell, I do it all of the time myself.

I'll tell you why I do it. Every once in a while, when the threads I normally post to die down, and I can't think of anything new to add to them, I'll go looking for some other thread to jump in on. Many are too boring to bother with, and many are about things I don't know much about, so I keep looking until I run across something that looks interesting, and which I think I know enough about to add a post. I don't care how old they might be, bringing them to life again is something I like to do. Most of them are threads that I never noticed before, and wish I had hopped on when they were new.

Another thing... When I run across a thread that someone created, that very few (if any) have responded to, I have to think that the person, who has been ignored, feels some kind of rejection. That's not a good feeling, and I think it may have something to do with the very large number of people, who have registered on the "ScaRatings", made a couple posts, and have disappeared. So I will look for these threads too as best I can.
