Remember back in the days of the weekly specialty games (Get Reel, Retro, Topix, Triviaoke) where from time to time the programmers would screw up so badly that the exact same game would repeat for three, four, even five consecutive weeks?
In the same arena... You may know that radio stations play Classic American Top 40 Casey Kasem shows from the 70s & 80s each week, from this week in history back in 197x or 198x. What you might not know that is a select few stations also play Classic Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 shows from the 1980s. My local station actually plays them both back-to-back on Sunday from noon - 8pm. (It's funny when they both happen to pick the same year in the same weekend, as they're then more or less playing the same songs during their respective 4 hour blocks, just in a slightly different order).
But anyway, recently the programmer at the local station here has screwed up the coding for the Rick Dees show, which has resulted in the exact show from Mother's Day 1986 being played for each of the past four weeks now. Wonder how long that will continue until someone points out the error and/or until a programmer there actually fixes the problem. It's only happening in the Rick Dees show, as the Casey Kasem show has loaded correctly each week despite the snafu with the preceding show. But it's definitely a walk down memory lane to when the all-too- familiar problem was happening at buzztime
