I need some advice.
I run vista on my pc.
The Buzztime site won't let me log off, so that I can log on with my son's account.
I think it is the pc, but am not sure, how do I fix it?
I did shut the system down, but comes up logged in still.

I rented "The Hurt Locker" on Saturday. i wanted to see what all the critical fuss and award nominations were about since I didn't remember seeing anything about the movie when it was in the theatres.

Parts are pretty intense. I suppose it would be hard to make a decent movie about a bomb disposal unit that wasn't intense.

My favorite part was the sniper gun-fight. well acted by an essentially no-name cast. the only actors I knew were in cameo roles.

Not sure I would give it an Oscar for Best Picture of the year but definitely well worth the rental fee

Isn't that their Oscar buzz campaign slogan?
"It's worth not paying for!"
Hmmm...catchy...

I wrap my rascal two times because I like it to be joyless and without sensation, as a way of punishing supermodels.

What? You've never heard the saying "My airship is full of eels"? (I have no idea what it means either, but he has it in a Spanish version and perhaps some other language on a different thread - all incomprehensible to me).

Cheers

Since Cloudy is a movie fan, I'll continue with another post about current movies.

finally went to see Avatar, in 3D of course. Once the sci-fi elements are stripped off, the movie is basically "Dances with Wolves" with a dose of the Circle of Life from "The Lion King" tossed in.

That caveat aside, I really enjoyed the movie. the alien environment was interesting and well-realised. the CGI was very good. Surprisingly , the 3D was more effective in the quieter scenes (especially the night-time scenes) in the forest than during the battle.

Its worth going to see on a big screen. I don't think it is Oscar-worthy, except in technical categories however.

I watched it online, without the 3D of course. It was entertaining as long as you can get by the "greenie" aspect. It would be good to get it on DVD so I can see it on my home theater.

I am told that the ONLY way to see it is in IMAX 3D.

I don't think I would have enjoyed it if I hadn't seen it in 3D.

I watched it in IMAX 3D it was nice, the movie was fabulous. But, and this is a big but, the cheap-ass 3-D glasses ruined it for me. We didn't have the cradboard ones, we had the piece of crap yellow plastic ones, absolutely horrible. I will give 3-D another shot this weekend, if, and only if they have those goggle ones.

I still haven't seen it because from what I have seen of it storywise in commercials and preview specials (which at this point seems to be most of the movie), it looks like a movie that I've already watched a hundred times.
I have this nasty habit of finding a plot more important than shiny objects, too, which looks to be a bit of a stumbling block.
Maybe I'm wrong.

It's an interesting movie, but, yes, it has been done 1,000 times.

Then again, I'm pretty convinced if you see enough movies pretty much everything has been done 1,000 times.

The graphics are impressive, though, for what they are.

Cloudy finds himself in dire trouble. His business has gone into foreclosure and he's in serious financial problems. He's so desperate that he decides to ask God for help. "God, please help me. Ah've lost ma wee store and if Ah dinna get some money, Ah'm going to lose my hoose too. Please let me win the lottery!"

Lottery night! Someone else wins... Cloudy prays again. "God, please let me win the lottery! Ah've lost my wee store, ma hoose and Ah'm going to lose ma car as weel!"

Lottery night again! Still no luck... Cloudy prays again.

"Ah've lost ma business, ma hoose and ma car. Ma bairns are starving. Ah dinna often ask Ye for help and Ah have always been a good servant to Ye. PLEASE just let me win the lottery this one time so Ah can get back on ma feet!"

Suddenly there is a blinding flash as the heavens open and the voice of God Himself thunders:
"Cloudy at least meet Me half way and buy a ticket!"

Anyone bought a gasoline powered alarm clock yet...?

"Apparently, it’s a piece of cake to get Energy Star-certified — just ask the Congressional auditors who received approval for a number of ridiculous fake products, including a gasoline-powered alarm clock and an air purifier consisting of a space heater with a feather duster on top. Other fake products, including a dehumidifier, dishwasher, and computer monitor, were accepted into the program with no questions asked about fake qualifications (i.e. energy efficiency data).

Does this mean we should question all Energy Star labels? No — most companies aren’t in the business of submitting fake products to the Energy Star program — but the auditing process does indicate that Energy Star officials accept qualifications without doing background research. The New York Times noted that the “ease with which the auditors had fooled the program suggested that consumers and agencies that rely on the logo were paying extra for products that might not actually save energy“.

Fortunately, Energy Star isn’t the only green certification program available. The Energy Department recently agreed to set up a system of independent verification for products, starting with refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers, dishwashers, water heaters and air-conditioners. Gasoline-powered alarm clocks need not apply."

I think this is one more example of the federal government's ineptitude. I also think this yet another reason for Americans to be concerened about the federal government moving to take more control of our daily lives.

If Toyota had done something as ridiculous as this, they would be ordered to show up for congressional hearings.

Sorry, gotta go... Need to run out to the garage and get some more gas for my alarm clock.
