Tom Palka and others are reporting that TommyK passed away. I never knew a person with terminal cancer who had a better attitude about it. I am going to miss his incisive wit and his encyclopedic memory of Tom Lehrer lyrics. Peace, Tommy.

Amen. I lost track of him back about March 28. The last I heard about his treatments he was doing well and starting a new job.
We emailed and chated on Facebook quite a bit.
RIP...

Wow. I hadn't heard he was ill. I hate hearing when cancer strikes, I lost my father to cancer.
Truly sorry to hear this. He was good people.

Talked to him every now and then on Facebook. Didn't even know he had cancer. Always seemed like a nice guy when I talked to him.

Sad news. I always enjoyed Tommy K's banter on the message boards. My condolences to all who knew him in person and to those who, like me, wish they'd had a chance to meet him.

It is always a struggle to come up with words that are as unique as the individual that has departed... to pay them the special respect they deserve. I only knew TOMMYK through cyberspace, but I could just sense that he was someone I could hangout with. I don't know if it would make a bit of difference to his friends and family, but if it does... please know that someone who never met him gives a shit and is saddened by his passing.

That is very sad for me to read. Tommy and I use to PM each other on the old BT forums. We were both the same age and educated by Irish Sinsinawa Dominican nuns. He was a dumb Chicago southside Iriish Mick and I was brilliant northside Irish Polach. It turned out that he was the Brillliant One. I always wanted to get together with him but sadly it never happened. I will miss him.

On behalf of all the Calgary-area trivia regulars, our sincerest condolences. TOMMYK regularly appeared on the national rankings, and his name (as well as Teaser's itself) is one that I recognize

:(

Been off-line for a while, only to come back to sad news.

Saw him on the boards all the time.

RIP, sir.

I met Tommy in the summer of 2008.
He was the sort of man that when you met him, it seemed like you had known him your whole life.
He was completely open and thoughtful but still maintained a feeling of irreverence that immediately put others around him at ease.
He just "got it".
The world is a lesser place with his passing.

Tommy was one of the ones that I would have liked to have met, but alas it won't happen now. I did enjoy his posts on the now defunct BT Forum.

I saw this on Facebook too. Tommy and I had a bit of correspndence through the BT site related to Southwest Michigan, where I grew up and he spent some time.

I always hoped to play a little trivia and shoot the shit with Tommy, but alas it won't happen now.

He was a good man and is missed.
