Also voiced Woodhouse on Archer, was an alien president on Star Trek in the episode called "First Contact" and was Senator Stackhouse I believe in an episode of West Wing. Three memorable characters on three terrific shows.

Post subject:  Perhaps the best badball hitter of all-time...

(SPOTES may jump in here, and disagree with me on this.)

Many consider Yogi to be the best badball hitter of all-time...!

For the rest of you, what does this mean...?

Here's a contrived scenario:

It's a crucial game, and the Yankees are down by a run in late innings, with a runner on first and two outs. Yogi comes to the plate, and takes two strikes. The count is 0 and 2, and with little to lose, the pitcher decides to waste a pitch way outside, hoping for a possible swing and a miss. Yogi sees the ball coming and decides that he can hit the terrible pitch. Yogi's bat swings true. CRACK...! Yogi's bat makes contact with the ball. The announcer is saying, "It's going deep...! Very deep...! Jensen is peddling back to the wall. It's GONE...!

Yogi is well know for swinging at pitches that weren't close to the strike zone and getting hits out of them.

Though I'm a life-long Red Sox fan, and hate the Yankees, I am deeply saddened by Yogi's passing. He was truly one of the best catchers of all-time.

p.s. I have wasted an hour trying to find a Casey Stengel (Manager of the Yankees) quote about Yogi Berra. I know it's out there somewhere, but I can't find it, so I'm giving up. However, I will paraphrase what he said: "Yogi is a strange person, but an incredible talent." (If anyone can find the exact quote, I will be extremely thankful.)
