I just heard this weekend that Bruce Erickson (BEE, BUZZ) passed away. He used to come to the Bungalow once in a while with J A K, MICE and a few other players. They were called the "Trivia Mafia" by some of the patrons at the Bungalow. They used to go around to different bars on the east side of the Twin Cities and had quite a few first place bar scores. Bruce was a music expert and had a legendary record collection. I only played a few times with him, but I enjoyed the times when I saw him at the Bungalow. He had been quite ill for a while. |

Sorry to hear about Bruce. He took a group of people at 8th Street Grill who played casually (and often competitively against each other) and cajoled us into all showing up on Tuesdays to play Showdown as a team. Eventually, he moved on to play at a different bar (Tailgate) and helped create the Showdown team there. Trivia players in the Twin Cities haven't had a good year. What with Tom (M Mutz) and now Bruce passing away. -Séamus |
