I was shocked to see on Facebook that Lonny Robinson (BANKER) had passed away last night. Sincerest condolences to his family and trivia friends.

I just got back to the house, and was checking my private messages. The first one I saw read, "Lonny Robinson/BANKER", and I immediately thought it was a private message from BANKER, and I couldn't wait to read what he had to say. However, at the same time my phone was ringing, so I answered it. It was JESSE, and he told me that BANKER had passed away. When I went back to reading the private message, I saw that it was sent to me by lijol telling me the same thing. I don't think I have ever had the emotion of happiness turn to sorrow so quickly in my life.

For those of you, who never met Lonny, he was a wonderful person and very smart. He almost always had a smile on his face. It was fun to be around him. Lonny had a great sense of humor, and was as witty as can be. I never saw him get angry at anyone or about anything all the years he played trivia with us at T.G.I. Fridays. Everybody liked him.

I can see him sitting down at the bar next to me, extending his arm to me, shaking my hand, and saying "Hey, Cloudy, how's it going?", before logging his playmaker on.

What a sad day this is. Of course this is a sad day for his family and loved ones, but it's also a sad day for his friends, who will never be able to see him again.

Opiee and I offer our condolences and best thoughts to Lonny's family and friends. We met him a time or 2 at the WV bashes and he was great and well liked by all there. Sad news indeed.

The few times I was able to join him for trivia here in SoCal, he was always friendly and hospitable. This is sad news and my condolences go out to his family.

I was on JETS blast yesterday and kept getting "message received" calls and didn't know what was going on. Finally called ZEBRA and he told me.

Lonnie and his wife played at he Bridgeport, WV BWW for a couple of days a few summers back. She is from Fairmont, the next exit north from my site. We had a great time and put up some national scores. I couldn't spend a penny...Lonnie paid for everything and it wasn't like we were sipping water.

Very sad to hear this.

Just sat down for some lunchtime trivia and see in memory of Banker as player of the week. Good job Buzztime!

I never had the chance to meet him, but he sounds like he was a great guy. Condolences to his family and friends.

Banker had a lot of energy, loved the game, but always kept it in perspective and just had sheer fun playing.

That is what I will remember, and what I will miss.

:( The sad situation is that I'm in SLO area this weekend and was thinking of trying to contact him. That's so sad and I did meet him once. Needless to say, he seemed to be a nice guy and will be missed. :(
