Chris Maher aka Bigdog216 and keeper of big blue the cooler, passed away yesterday after a short illness. I will miss our conversations and for those in the fellowship, his war criminal of the week.

He attended several trivia Palooza events.

RIP to a good man.

Very sorry to read this.

I met Chris for the first time at the Morgantown Triviapalooza.

We played a few games together, and he provided me my first bottle of Old Leghumper out of his cooler. My wife got a kick out of the label.

Rest in Peace, Chris.

Yes, I'm sorry to hear it as well. We got together a couple of times as well when I was in the Akron area, also at 'Palooza'. He will definitely be missed.

There was a Palooza that Big dog Pengwn and myself spent the afternoon at the Mt. Carmel Brewing Company porch. Great beer and conversationS. A memory I will cherish.

BIGDOG came up in conversation at Mad Jack's Monday afternoon. On behalf of JOHNL, KRISPY, REVE, RUGCAT, and MICE, I'd like to express our sorrow for a loss which has plainly resonated through the Buzztime community.

Thanks, Tiffany, for letting us know about this.

I would like to join everyone else in expressing my shock and sadness at BIGDOG's passing. Although Chris usually played with the West Park Station folks, for several years he was a semi-regular with The Fellowship on Tuesday nights. In fact, he is the originator of one of our weekly Showdown traditions.

Before the Pyramid Round, we have for many years done a call-and-response group rant comparing the degree to which some of us dislike the round to the level of detestation we have of war criminals. It was probably around 2011 or so that Chris got the idea of getting up after the rant and announcing, "...And tonight's Pyramid Round is brought to you by [insert war criminal's name here]." Every week thereafter he would come prepared with a new war criminal, often selected carefully to speak to current events or anniversaries of events. Even after he stopped coming to play with us regularly, we continued this tradition by having someone (usually ELROND) come up with a new sponsor (unfortunately, there is a nearly-inexhaustible supply). I don't think we have missed doing this any week we have played in the years since he started it.

Thanks, Chris, for your friendship, your fellowship, and your contributions to the team. We miss you, and we will be lifting a glass to you tonight.

I'm just catching up here after an absence. I met Bigdog at several paloozas. Sorry to see this.
