Woody P. of the old Slider's team passed away on Monday after having a stroke. He played at Slider's in San Dimas in the early 90's and attended the infamous NTN convention (that included DAVETV). He also joined the National West Covina team a few times. When NTN experimented with registered handles before PlayersPlus, he used HNTR#1. Because he did not have transportation, he did not play much trivia in the last few years. About a year ago, I was able to take him to a local BWW for a few games. I don't know much about his life, except that he served in the Marines and was stationed in Japan, He mentioned having an Associates degree. When we played at Slider's, he worked at Raging Waters, then after that, at various odd jobs until he became too ill to work. I understand most of his family lives in Indiana. |

Why was NTN convention infamous? It was great fun and I won another trip to SD by being on the winner (Koufax beat us all remotely, though). |
