Louisville lost a good man and a long time BT player when Dave Pottinger passed away this week. Dave had been battling cancer and is now at rest.
Dave played under CATFAN in homage to his University of Kentucky days. Dave was a member of the football team for the Cats and remained an ardent fan of all their sports, especially the football and basketball teams.
He was a fixture on the Louisville trivia circuit for decades, going back to the old TGIF and Damon's days, and would be found at sites all over town, particularly when sports were being broadcast.
I believe I first met Dave at TGIF back in the big team days there, probably having one of his signature "grilled chicken wings with Cajun spice, all drummies please". He was probably accompanied by his good friend Andy / FSHMAN, who played a ton of games together over the decades.
Dave was also a contributor to the previous version of the Scaratings bulletin board, and enjoyed some feisty posting.
Some of his friends are gathering this evening, and we will have a beer in his memory.
