He was definitely among the original Showdown players at Nickelodeon back in the days of fierce SD competition against W. Covina, Washington DC and Houston.
To get the chronology straight, he won $500.000 on the June 5,2001 show of Millionaire and started playing at Nickelodeinn a few months thereafter. To be considered a member of the "original" Nickelodeinn team, you would have been playing there during its heyday from around 1995 to the latter part of 1998, when the West Covina computers took over and "original players" began leaving.
After that, the team never did as well as before. Some original players remained, and a few continued playing after Nickelodeinn closed in 2002 and the team eventually ended up at A&M Roadhouse where it revived with new blood.

I think he was on the original Badbart yahoo group and was on the BT forums. Then on here a good bit.
Don't recall the earlier places, definitely was here.

Then, I did meet him one time on a zoom call while sitting in with the NY team for a Covid remote game. Nice guy sitting in his apartment with his wife Dorothy. Very welcoming to a new comer. Such a loss to everyone.
Yes, that was a Hybrid game at Herrill Lanes, I recall it well.
Thanks for the kind words and I'll relay them to Dorothy tonight.
