Suggestions for the Site

Please put any suggestions for the site in this thread, including requests on changes of pre-existing things. Please try to stay on topic in this thread, if possible, just so we don't miss anyone's ideas!

(Yes, I know there's another forum up to do this, but it's not obvious what it's for).

Possibly something in the way of a "Mark Forums Read" link, or equivalent. No big deal at the moment, but maybe if/when the traffic increases it might be of some use (it certainly is at the BT forum). Or maybe I'm just not seeing it.

I would like the "next topic" button replicated at the bottom of the thread. I like navigating that way, and its just a small bit inconvenient to move to the top of the thread.

add a section for Race in the Sports and perhaps a section of 'semi-permanent' location for 'Solo' players... we all know the games are designed for team play and with few exceptions that is what we see on the Top 20 site and player ranking - so a place where 'solo' only players can post a score for premium games would be great ... since it is next to impossible to extract the data players can just post and compare - even a 'team' play that wound up going it alone for a game.

Just saw this, Cav. I'll try to get those on there today.

What do you mean by "Semi-permanent" location of Solo players, though?

I looked through the settings options, but there doesn't appear to be any way to set threads to more than ten posts per page.
It would be nice to reduce the number of pages involved, especially down the line when this place starts hitting its stride and that chatty bastard foobar hits top end...

That use to be configurable per user, but I don't see it either.

I changed the posts to 25 per page instead of 10.

Sound OK ? I used to set mine to 40.

I choose 25 as a middle ground considering some of our members proclivities in animated image posting, which can at times slow down the page refresh/initialization.

I don't know if it can be done with this forum, but one thing I really liked about buzztime's forum was that if you just scrolled on a thread (before clicking into it), you could see the first 3-4 lines of the first post in the thread. I found that very helpful in determining if I wanted to dive in to that thread or if I should just move along.

Couldn't find anything for that either. Configuration choices appear rather limited overall.

I think I found a way to do it on an overall basis on a PHPBB forum, but I don't want to test it right now as I have a meeting in a few hours and won't be able to fix it quickly if it breaks. I'll try later on tonight.
