I've been surfing through all the news channels, about what's going on ... and all three of the major cable channels, CNN, FOX and MSNBC, I believe I'm starting to see a similar trend (other than the mass destruction,) and it reminds me of an old Kirk Douglas film titled - Ace In The Hole - http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0043338/, where the role Douglas plays is a journalist, and talks and deals with the victim in a trapped cave accident.

Right now, Anderson Cooper is on the screen and he is doing exactly the same thing.

And no, I am absolutely not taking this lightly, but just have a side step here on how the news is currently being portrayed ... and how the circus has formed ... if you catch my drift. Just my dime's worth.

I know what your saying. I've seen a number of reports where the reporters are explaining how they had to bring in their own supplies. As if it were about them.

I haven't watched. I have quite a few friends from college who were from/in Haiti. It turns my stomach to see all of that, especially given how so many of them had so little to begin with.

I still haven't heard from one of my roommates in college, but I'm hoping she's OK as I don't think she was supposed to be in Haiti then. (Editing to clarify: she's Haitian, if that wasn't clear). She stopped updating her Facebook, too. :/ Eek.

of course it's about them.... they get paid millions of dollars (some of them) to do absolutely nothing but sit on their ass and talk about things that other people are out doing.....they have to occasionally pull a stunt to justify their own existence...

Hopefully, she is okay and just having trouble getting power and/or a cell connection.

I'm assuming she is. Knowing her personality, I'm fairly certain that a few buildings crumbling on top of her wouldn't put a pause in her step.
