Congrats to the usual suspects last night...L PATO, SPOTES, BUG, DUKE, and everyone else that I missed...and 86th Street, JP Shakers, Heroes, Stadium Cafe, and the rest! I tried a different way of tracking the top scores, and it didn't work out too well...so my apologies for those I neglected to mention. I'd imagine HUNK, GAVV, and BO were out playing too..

STATS calls me a little after 6:00 and says he can make it in time to meet me at JF Kicks..so we played there last night. First round we nailed for 30/30. Nice start. 2nd round, STATS precalls both Ernie Els questions. After the and-one, I look and see that my box didn't register the answer...so I take a big fat 0 on that question. Willie Mays we bled .8 on the first one...then we were trying to guess what the and-one would be, and I go Say Hey Kid. Still lost .1 on it though  Football coach, I say Parcells...and sure enough, he was up there. For his first name, STATS and I split with me going Duane and he went Wade. 2nd round was a 24.1/30 for a total of 54.1. Third round I got a 3.0/5.0 on Michael Bush's team as the R didn't register on my box. At this point, I'm hurting the bar score, so I move my box to the page of shame location as the last box to be played...so my scores go down hill the rest of the round. OKC center I got a 1.9/5.0. Frank Martin got a 3.4/5.0. Joe Nathan question got a 4.4/5.0 as I hit XT on accident and had bled by the time I got it to XR. Got 2.4/5.0 on Reggie Miller as the E did not register at first. Doron Lamb got a 3.9/5.0. Dustin Ackley got a 4.1/5 for a round total of 38.1/60. Year round we went with 2006 instead of 2008 for a 1.5. 2009 we were on 2006 and changed it to 2009 for a 3/5. We nailed 1992, 1947, 1988, 1999, and 1977 for full value. I must give props to STATS as he was nailing the years last night. 4th round was 34.5/40 for a total of 126.7 entering the last round. Last round, the NHL team with the leading scorer and NCAA Conferences were gimmies. Once again the Olympic individual event winners got us with a 2/5. Stadium first games we only got 2/5. Baseball announcers we switched the Cubs and Royals announcers...even though I didn't think the Royals announcer sounded right as the Cubs announcer. Oh well. Final score of 164.7.

Good news is my g/f's box got a 176.0 for 4th nationally...with Kick's taking 2nd. Last round was challenging...need to work on the Olympic event winners. I think next week STATS and I will either be back at Riverview BWW or University BWW...we shall see though.

we had our worst round 1 in a while, 21/30. our stadium sponsor kung fu is about as weak as our spring training site mojo some times :).

box score we nailed except me, as we weren't sure on Duane and i had kept my scores elsewhere not wanting to switch.

we figured that with our near perfecto in box score (spotes 49.5, me 48.2 managing to mess up typing in chicago bears :P ) that we'd gain some points with Reggie Miller, Serge Ibaka and Kraft Nabisco.

Year round we ended up in the 35 area where only 2006 that we missed for 1.5, and nailed everything else except 1947 that we got for 4. Again was happy with my specialty being clue 1 for 1963 :).

spotes managed 48 in the final round, getting 6 on the olympians, and 6 on one other i'm forgetting...

our official lineup last nite was SPOTES, GAVV, TURBO, & MKRCHD (and drunk incoherent MURPH who luckily for me was on the other end of the bar this time)

Yes, UCFHCY, if it's Monday I'm playing Sports.

Congratulations to Spotes and 86th St. Pub for #1 individual and bar rank last night and to JF Kicks for also ranking ahead of us. After last Thursday's Six and opening night of the Smartest Hooters in America, L Pato and I convince Andrew (Glaze) to celebrate his birthday Monday night at Hooter's growing weary of the Monday night WPT poker crowd at Varsity Grill and Pub in Tallahassee. Ken (Kendo), Eric (Slam) and Kimberly (Scots) complete the team. Jorge (L Pato) correctly guesses Duane for Bill Parcell's first name in the second round and the rest of us whiff. No real problems in the third round except on at least two occasions I enter the two letters look back up at the screen to reconfirm my answer and look back down at the window in my playmaker only to see one letter showing and have to quickly re-enter. Does anyone else experience this? Does pressing your letters too hard cause "bounce"? (Not that it would have made any difference) In round four for the second week in a row I shout 1998 for Dallas beating Buffalo when I know Detroit beat Washington that year. L Pato corrected me last week but this week we don't catch it in time. A few other fours when we're a year off on the first clue (we hate it when that happens). We're all 135 to 125 entering the matching round and then we fumble. We only get 2 points on matching the 2004 Olympic winner with the event, we flip-flop the Cubs and Royals baseball announcers, and I can't correct everyone else's first wrong answers in time on when the NFL stadiums first opened. No, Indiannapolis did not open in 1982, it was 1984 (of course 86th St gets that one right) and Giants Stadium and Metrodome appear to have been flip-flopped by the rest of the team.

My box: 1) 30/30 2) 24/30 3) 42/50 4) 29/40 5) 40/60 for 165.

L Pato never surrenders his lead after the Bill Parcell's question and represents our team in the network rankings. A challenging, entertaining, well-written but tricky in a couple of places, game.

I have issues with the second letter where I am either pressing the letters too early...or too close together and only the first one answers. It's especially bad at some BWWs...just have to remember to pause in between letters...not always easy when you're playing multiple boxes.

Boy, did I take one on the chin in the matching round last night!! Probably my worst matching round ever and it cost me a good game.

Round 1. 30/30
Round 2. 25/30. Only miss was Parcell's first name.
Round 3. 44.6. Biggest drain was figuring out Serge Ibaka. A couple other mild bleeders
Round 4. 28.5
06 - 1.5 92 - 2.0 63 - 5.0 09 - 4.0 47 - 4.0 88 - 2.0 99 - 5.0 77 - 5.0

So I was at 128.1 going into the matching round and feeling pretty good about things! Then I manage to come through with a stunning 20 in the last round. 20!! Felt like Tommy Hearns in the 3rd round against Marvin Hagler. Or maybe John Tate against Mike Weaver in the 15th...... Didnt know what hit me. Took a potentially nice game and absolutely flushed it down the toilet. Will do a "Tiger Woods - like" swiing analysis (anyone have Sean Foleys number?) and will try to be back with a vengenance next week!

I wish I could get back to my dominating ways of SIQ, but I can't (me, not going to have my scores questioned in a game that I can kick ass in every week). Thanks Buzztime for making me never want to play your stupid games.

Congrats to the people who still play, and play well.

Lewser, I remember seeing you every week in the national rankings in the early to mid 2000's when I was playing at Chestnut Station in Gadsden, AL., always at the top with ULF, Wahoo, Big J and others. That was before the format for the third and fifth rounds were changed. I for one would not question your scores if you put on your retro jersey and came out again regularly.

Those were the days; I am still good friends with all those folks. I hung out with BIG J and his brother Stephen (PNETAR), and LANCE just a few weeks back. I joined them on the strip for a 'stay-cation' and we didn't think twice about playing repeat trivia. Actually, we were busy playing blackjack (Stephen was cleaning house, Friday excluded-we took a beating that night but stayed way ahead) and watching college basketball all weekend. Curt (ULF) and his Wife, Lorrie (WAHOO) are busy with other challenges these days, they travel around the World and do outdoor stuff. They climbed Kilimanjaro last year and have been running marathons for a couple of years now. The last time we all got together was 5 years ago for BIG J's wedding in Houston along with BO, RACER, DIVOR, and SLOTEK. BO, that butt-munch, kept turning my board off during a cutthroat game, and he tried to take our Jager drinking apparatus away from us, punk. BO comes to town every few months or so and we haven't played trivia for 3 years, correct? The last two times we played we missed one question, fuck you Tony Dungy, the whole game. The other was when we played trivia at a place that was a secret hideout for Crazy Girls Undercover (soft core porn).

EDIT: Before BO mentions it again, Four Non-Blondes, FOUR, Four Non-Blondes, fuck..

RACER and I alternated turning your board off, you could only keep your eye on one of us at a time. Shit happens after 2am when trivia players refuse multiple times to vacate the premises.

But it's so boring winning the West Feed every week and having it mean nothing. You, Marc, and the LA team have to start playing again so it can at least be a little competition.

Sorry, Matt, but playing against one other person in half the country that has a small chance of beating me is not appealing in the slightest. Winning every week is, like you said, boring. BT never understood this, it is a challenge playing against the best, and that makes the game appealing..

we actually goofed up on Texas Stadium and Giants Stadium (the other I forgot before). technically the Hoosier Dome 'opened' in 1982 to Purdue defeating Notre Dame ;) but for NFL tis 84.

Yay!!! No more spring training site questions!
Well, what do you know? Our scores went up too.
Probably a coincidence...
