I'm sitting at the the home site, first beer in front of me, logging on. I glance at the national board scrolling through and I see COLD SPOT out of Charleston, WV as the top site.

I think to myself, "Those bat rastards never invite me down. Those no good mothe...", when my thought process is interupted by my phone ringing. I look at the number and don't recognize the number, but answer it anyway.

Well, its those no good mothe...

I digress.

Anyway, it's CAP, who plays at the Cold Spot. Asks if I remember him from NOLES and my WV BT Tours. I say yes and that I also know his brother.

He informs me that WV is getting a new BT site @ Canaan Valley Resort and he is the bar manager and general overseer of the resort and...

He wants to have a BT shindig grand opening once BT is installed and did I know of any people that might want to come over for a weekend and play trivia...with alcohol and food discounts along with...

FREE ROOMS!!!

The area is around a state park and I just heard on the radio on the way to work that the area has been recognized as a wilderness area that is going to get some fed $$$---but that is beside the point. It's beautiful up there, in the middle of nowhere, and it is going to have BT.

Not sure of all the details, but this is something that some of you may want to put on your radar. Best part is, I have nothing to do with it, so it should be well organized.

It's been about five years since I was last in Charleston. I remember it was a nice place, other than the manure. As the movie says, "I HATE MANURE!" :lol:

But I'm sure the Occupy WV event would easily be able to top that story, though :lol:

Remember, this isn't connected with my hosting the WVBTOs. This is someone else's gig here in West By God. That said, I know the guy, he has been playing BT trivia for years, and Canaan Valley Resort is a nice place.

My understanding is that he wants to have a party when Buzztime is installed and that he would take care of lodging and have drink/food specials. He told me to invite my friends....and y'all are my friends!!!

I'm not sure how many folks he thought I'd invite, so I need to find out numbers as well as the date when I talk to him sometime this week. He mentioned the install should be in a couple of weeks, but that is dependent on when BT shows up.

Just thought I'd throw it out here on Scaratings on the off-beat chance that some of y'all might wanna head to the hills for a weekend. With the free lodging, it would only cost you gas...as long as you don't take a "wrong turn"...hehehehe.

Sounds like fun. Davis WV is about 3 hours from DC, same for Pittsburgh. The skiing is great there and the place is usually crowded on winter weekends. Good roads getting in even with snow. Cool 4 wheeling there too, for those with Jeeps.

Might make it depending on the date. Also is CAP getting extra boxes? or just whatever he's ordered for the install (10 or 20?)

While much of the Northeast was hit by snow, my region was affect greatly by gravity.

Thus, I was unable to contact CAP regarding info/dates for this expected events. I'll do better this week, as the pain and bruising subsides.

Played phone tag over the weekend with CAP. I'll call again sometime today to see if he has an idea of when BT is going to be installed and when the event will occur.

I received some texts from CAP yesterday regarding the new site in WV and his interest in having a little get together to celebrate the opening.

The date(s) will be one of the first two weeks in December, depending on when BT finishes the install. It will be a two day event, Friday & Saturday. The site is getting 10 PMs to start with, but I told him to speak to the BT rep about having another 10-15 PMs added for the event, if numbers warrant them.

The "winners" of the event will win WV State Parks vacation prizes. Rooms won't be "free", but rather around $30 bucks a night (still, a pretty good deal). What "winners" means, I don't know. (I teach SpEd, so everyone is a "winner"). Maybe total points over the event, maybe total points for premium games, maybe he'll just give it to me for defying gravity...which I doubt will happen...EGADS!!!

Just a reminder, the place is a ski resort, so depending on the weather, skiing may be an option for folks. There is a trout stream near by, also. The roads are pretty good in the area...by WV standards.

I believe that they serve WV microbrews at the site and I'm sure the food is better fare than a BWW serves.

Also, I have NOTHING to do with this in terms of organization, other than to recommend a two-day event and to get some extra PMs.

This is an opportunity to go to a new BT site, win a prize, get discounted room rates, eat something other than wings, have a new microbrew or two, and see some beautiful country. Hopefully, I'll know more about the PM numbers by Monday or so.

I know that I'll be going, unless something really bad happens between now and then (when is the world supposed to end?). Hope to see some of y'all there, too.
