Well, I'm finally officially coming. Had to give up on the Hilton Gardens and found a place about ten miles away. But with my light hitting, it shouldn't be a problem.

I booked at the HGI yesterday.

What was the problem with them, Charles? I can try and take care of it via a manager at the BWW. Might be some sipping going on after trivia that you'll want to take part in.

Well, about a week ago, I saw the $83 state employee rate and thought I'd wait until the trivia discount was worked out and take the lower rate. But when I checked Friday, the state rate was gone. I had a fair bit of trouble getting the trivia discount from the hotel, and it turned out to only apply to Friday and Saturday nights. So I went on Priceline and got a room in another 3 star hotel for $50+ a night. That room is paid for and nonerefundable, so I'll definitely be staying there.

I'll be coming in Thursday night, but I'll be driving from Madison. I doubt I'll make it in time to play, but we'll see.

I've cleared my calendar and I expect to be there, eager for the chance to buy beers for Red Sox fans. I believe Frank C is out per previous post.

Any other changes?

I think JETS is coming. A WV player, ANGEL, is too. BIGDOG from Cleveland may stop by. I forget what DENNIS told me two weeks ago. Maybe some other goofballs.

Not a bash, just a little informal weekend of button punching.

Everybody driving in on Thursday keep an eye on the weather. right now it looks as if a front with severe thunderstorms will pass Morgantown Thursday afternoon or evening, with widespread rain.

Looks like the count heading from Baahston will be foouaah. Sakic, Jen M, Badger, and Meee. Two fairly passionate Red Sox fans - and two casual.

Warned Badger (he attended U of Wisconsin - go figure) about all the Ohio St. and Tennesse (or whatever team Spiegs is following now) fans...he's game. Meee wanted to go so bad, he volunteered to drive both ways..

Unfortunately, the party will have to go on without Wally/ Smartr. Part of it probably work related, but he's been sick off/on for weeks. Ten or so hours in a car with him wouldn't be so pleasant for the foouahh of us. Besides - no wants to see a sick Botfly.

FYI - We are planning on a 9 AM departure Thursday morning... factoring in a quick stop for lunch, ETA in Morgantown 7:30 to 8 PM.

I'm working Thursday and had planned to be in Morgantown at opening on Friday. I didn't get a room for Thursday.

I can stop up Thursday after work and get there 4:30ish-5:00, but I'd have to head back to Clarksburg later in the evening...IF i get to the tax office tonight. If not, then I'll be up for opening on Friday.

I'll let management know that there will be some early arrivals.

SPIEGS is going to be a no-show. He just started a new job and won't be able to get off work until 6:00 on Friday.

I plan on getting there between 11:00 and 12:00 tomorrow (Friday). I think Tolle said he'd be there about then, too.

I plan this whole thing to drag his ass over here. He can go to Baltimore & Martinsville, but can't make it the one week that he said he'd be over.

Part of it is that Chuck and I are both heading out there way too early for him. We're each leaving around 8:00 AM. Unless someone is going to be heading through Winchester around 6:00 PM ...

FWIW--The tax lady called and everything is ready, so I'll head up to Mo-town when I'm done dealing with that. Should get there round 6ish.

I would have loved to have made it....unfortunately the Winchester VA court system believes I shouldn't have a license for a year from a little "accident" I had last summer. Anyway...lesson learned. If someone is driving thru Winchester at 6, I'll hop along! Lol

For the first time, I hit two b-dubs in Northeast Ohio, and they completely hose you on beer and food prices. I also got to experience the infamous B-dubs lag.

Dropping the coin on gas, turnpike tolls and over a C-note for a hotel room was bad enough, but knowing I would drop as much for the hotel room in one marathon trivia round at a B-dubs put it completely out of the question.

Thank Heaven for the indie bars who still have trivia and draft micros at reasonable prices!

(And, downtown Mo-town rocks!)

We had a small group at Hardtimes in Germantown beating you all until late, during Night Shift you woke up and got a couple #1s.
