Buzztime has listened to its players and are in the process of removing the Buzztime network time zone split. Get ready for true nationwide bar vs. bar competition! This way they can also bring back national promotions like Smartest Bar where the highest scoring site gets awarded a trophy and prizes.

**UPDATE** Targeted date is Wednesday, July 15... just in time for Triviapalooza!

While I'm as happy as anyone that we get real national rankings again has anybody seen the new schedule in detail yet?

One of the silver linings to that particular cloud was an ability to get home at a reasonable hour (and before anybody with a sniff of ETOH becomes automatic DUI bait) in the right-hand half of the country, and clearly something has to give. If CA gets, say, Glory Daze after the normal work day is over, then FL doesn't get home after Brainbuster until 11.

The sweet spot is the two hour specialty block from 8-10e. 30 minutes of specialties first, the one hour premium game at 830/530, then the final 30 minutes of specialties.

Wasn't that when Sci-Files was cut down to a 15-minute game? That wasn't so nice. As a matter of fact, we were very, very happy when it went back to its 30-minute CD format. And I'd be happy to see Pastimes restored to 30 minutes as well, whether it airs before or after Six.

I can't say with 100% that it wasn't 15 minutes, but I clearly recall it being 15 questions/three rounds. There was definitely a time where all four games were before Six and sci-files was still a full game.
