Stewart's Brewing Company in Bear, Delaware will host its first Trivi-Ale Bash the weekend of August 27-29, 2010.

We're a 200-seat full-service restaurant and brewpub with a 40-seat bar and a lively hometown trivia crowd. (I am a bartender, manager and avid trivia player here.)
We're located just a couple of miles from I-95 (and right off of Route 1) in a strip mall with ample parking.
There are several hotels/motels in easy driving/shuttle distance and one within feasible walking distance. I'll gather more info and try to set up favorable room rates when I get an idea of how many people need them.

The cool thing about being a brewpub, of course, is that we make our own beer. Brewer Ric has promised to make a special batch of beer (Trivi-Ale) for our Bash, as long as enough people are coming.

For any very out-of-town guests thinking about making more than a weekend of it, we are located about 35 minutes from downtown Philadelphia, an hour from Inner Harbor in Baltimore, 90 minutes from the Delaware beaches, and two to two and a half hours from NYC and DC. (And for anyone located within that range already, you can see how easy it will be to get here that weekend!)

Please let me know here if you are interested. I look forward to meeting many of the folks I have seen here and on the (inter)national leader boards. I will be at Tiefly's shindig in West Virgina, as well, if anyone there wants more infomation.

According to google maps that's an 11 hour drive for me, about the same elapsed time of my return trip from Hawaii to Louisville KY.

I guess the nearest airport would be Philly ?

Sounds like it could be fun. Been to the West Deer Park and other BT bars around Newark. Never been to Bear.

OPIEE & I will consider this one. We're about 2.5 hours away. Keep us informed about hotel deals.

The MD/VA/DC area players should be able to get up there.

Yep- Philly is the nearest commercial airport, about a half-hour away. But I'll personally find a lei for you, if you make the trip.

Will do.

We'd love to have you. We figured an awful lot of people would be in easy driving distance, as we're smack dab in the middle of the DC-NY corridor.

This has definitely got my interest. Buzztime in a brewpub - two of my favorite things, Craft-Brewed Beer and Trivia! It looks like it's about 400 miles (7hours) from here. I can't commit yet, but it's on my radar screen. Keep us posted on lodging.

This sounds like a good time. About the same distance/time for me. I may be able to get some of the NoVa folks motivated to head east for this.

Shawn talked to me about this way back in Decemeber and I'm glad to hear he is going to go through with it. It will be real tough for me to get that time off, but I'll make it if at all possible. It sounds like you have a good site and situation to hold this and I'm sure it will be a great time.

btw, since I first talked to you, I've noticed AKBAR on the big board quite a bit... keep up the good work!

Love to have you here. (Our brewer will probably try to talk you into swapping some of your bourbon for some of our beer, though. :D )

As long as you don't mind my puking the entire next day, I'm all for it.

My body doesn't handle beer well (inherited condition from my midget ancestors). If I drink enough beer to get tipsy, I will vomit, no questions asked. :)

Dante if you wanted to drive instead of fly, Bridgeport WVA is on the route... we could stop in and you could see Tiefly's place.

Then, we could swing a little north and see if we could hook up with Shark, Poman and crew at the Getaway in Pittsburgh, then drop back down to the Maryland/VA border and see Noles and Angel.

Or do some on the way there and some on the way back.

Got a chance to meet the legendary AKBAR in WV, good guy and good trivia player... I have a feeling he'll be able to put on a great show! Anyone living on the eastern seaboard who has thought some of the other events were a bit too far away should really consider making it to this one.

Doug, the Wilmington Blue Rocks are out of town that weekend.

Boo! :|

Might attend anyway. Odds right now around 50/50. Hope that I do.

399 miles and 7:09 from home, according to MapQuest. I'm WAY tempted!
