I am organizing an evening at Danny K's to coincide with Triviapalooza in July. I have the front section reserved for us on July 24th starting at noon until close. Would love see all the So Cal brainiacs there. Maybe even a stalker? All are welcome! Please let me know if you can make it so I can give management a ballpark figure. See y'all in July. Let's beat Bargo's!!!

Triviapalooza is not a bash.

Opening odds say Danny K's defeat Triviapalooza in 65%+ of games played.

I'll be 3 miles north of Playa Del Carmen or I'd show up at one of them.

I've played with the regular Bargos team, and they are damn good. If there is no lag I don't think so. Throw in Fog and Clark from up the road at Dayton and they could beat anyone.

Going against recent history eh? It's been forever since a gathering put up a dominating performance.

Ah, IIRC last year's Triviapalooza did very well, and this year's WVBTO did far better than the prior year. Should be more than a lil interesting to find out how the inaugural Trivi-Ale will do.

Glad to see you're getting something together Barbie. Good luck to you!

Add SPOTES and STEVE to that mix and I'll take my chances.

Prediction... the over/under is 58 times on how often BO tells us how great it was in the old days.

Well, maybe, just maybe, things were a lil different during previous gatherings. Image

Without trying to point fingers at any specific other players, IIRC it was things said during WVBTO II that caused a seriously heated discussion back on the now gone NTN Buzztime Forums, and apparently some of those hard feelings persist today. Image

When was the last time a gathering won even one premium game? Let alone all of them during the festivities. That's the part that I chuckle about. Hell, the last gathering the team of 40+ got beat in SL by a team of three.

Of course during previous bashes all of us had to walk to the bash city. Uphill. Both ways. In the snow.

If you do bring it out, make sure to play a FURJOL board :)

Sorry, GIRLIE, but it is far more likely that I'll be playing another board (or two) beginning with F. Image

Like I said, it'all depend on whether there is lag or not.

Last year at HH I walked up to the BWW and seated outside were many players.

Fog saw me walking up and said Scar, c'mon over. At one table were FOG, Spotes, Steve Card, Clark and Vishnu. I sat down at the same time Yankee was pulling up a chair. Do you really think those guys wouldn't be capable of winning a premium game ? Not to mention the rest of the assemblage.

Well, like some of us have been saying for years, if there's more than 50 boxes, you're screwed. That being said, I can't wait to see how many boxes they try to plug in.

And of course some of those guys you mentioned can and have won premium games by themselves, but all I'm going by is past performance at every gathering the last several years.

** past performance is no guarantee of future results, investments can and do lose money. :)

Sure, I agree. I've seen lag issues creep up when you go over 40 boxes.

Let's see... HH won Spotlight last year and our "b" team finished 3rd in Playback, while the "a" team took 1st by a hefty margin at Cadillac Jack's. I would think the self appointed historian of Buzztime would've known that though...

Three names are missing from the attendance list.
So, I recently got ahold of FOG, VISHNU and YANKEE.
Theoretically, they'll all be there on Saturday.
You may want to call your bookie and find out the new Vegas line.
Or should I just make my wager now to give you time to gather up my winnings before next year's sports get-together? :D

Hmmm...I just realized that if I ever need a "Phone-A-Friend" I'm in pretty damn good shape... :D

Well, if VISHNU is there Friday night the book revokes all lines and relocates to a non-extradition country. If you guys aren't there for the Thursday games, the book is still open. Am assuming the standard Saturday winning team will attend.

It's never been about how many attend, it's about who attends.

I suppose I could put up my ticket sales so far as collateral, but I don't think that would buy a decent meal. :(

Hell yeah, the only question would be if you wanted them to have references. :)

At our Goleta anti-bash, we had to bring in at least five people from as far as four miles in order to beat the "b" team. ;)

Harry, since you will be sober and Tiefly won't, why don't you suggest to Patty @ Bargos and whoever else is help running the show that they restrict premium game usage to 45 boxes ?

Maybe a good idea in theory, but it is not going to happen. I simply don't care enough about trying to impress BO and LEWSER to take a box away from someone. If Danny K's (or anyone else) beats us... good job.
