I just wanted to extend a special thanks to SPOTES for his patience the last couple of days. Not only did he allow me to be an albatross (or was it an osprey?) around his neck on Tuesday as the two of us limped 86th Street Pub to 11th place in BrainBuster and 30th place in Showdown (he played 4 boxes, I had 2); but he also gamely came out to play at a BWW on Wednesday (my 11-yr-old and his friend wanted to try SIX for the first time, and that was the only place nearby that accommodated kids). He tolerantly put up with all of us from Sci Files through SIX.

As always, it was a pleasure to hang out with him and glom off of his superior triviatudeness. I hope to see him again before too long.

I noticed that Spotes and Steve were playing last Saturday afternoon while I was muddling through a few games myself. He doesn't get out to play as much as he used to. I managed to make the Countdown Top 20 Leaderboard for one of the games along with them. Hopefully it will work out for me to make a trek to Indy 500 land and play a few games with him at some point while BT is still relevant and we both are active players.

Spotes and patience are never found in the same sentence. Never.

I noted ANON on Six and commented to Bigdog that I hadn't seen that on Wednesdays before.

In that case, all I can say is this:

His patience. In the midst of the two 11-year-olds flitting about the table drew my sincere admiration.

Well, it has been quite a while. I used to play SIX on a solo basis almost every Wednesday before I got married 12 years ago. In fact, this happened one of the last times I played as a bachelor, a few weeks before the wedding:

Glad to host the festivities.
It was nice to meet your family and it's good to see kids legitimately interested in trivia.
I'm always happy to prepare future trivialists for facing these nerdy mean streets...
