So far you guys are batting 1000 when it comes to recommendations, so how about one for Louisville?

I'm staying east of the city on Hurstbourne near Whipps Mill Rd.

Thanks!

I don't think anyone plays in Louisville anymore.
Haven't seen them on the nighttime boards in long while. Don't know about day time.

Thanks. I guess I'll have to start recruiting!

From Don Denton's site, it looks like there is a group that has been playing Thursday SIX at Old Chicago for the last couple of months or so. They also showed up a few times among other games in 2017. No other Louisville location has charted more than once or twice in any game over the past year. Sounds like Old Chicago is your likeliest bet.

Sad to read this. Used to be a hotbed of BT.

ANON,

I REALLY want to play tonight. Old Chicago has had one good night of Showdown since November 14th (a single visiting player got 53,315). Otherwise never more than two players, never averaging above 3,000.

BWW Louisville is even worse, with only three games in their Showdown history, max of four players and 15,993.

I guess I’m going to have to LILJOL it and go it alone.

ANON,

I don’t think I ever got back to you about Old Chicago.

No one was playing but I casually recruited the guy to my right and the bartender that night and got my trivia fix in.

It was a very friendly restaurant with good food, so even though there were no TVs tuned to Buzztime, I’m going to give it another go next week.

I invited some co-workers which are a hodgepodge of pub trivia, HQ, and Trivia Crack players. None have played Buzztime before. It’s a decidedly younger group, but they’re very excited. The emails confirming interest were littered with exclamation points.

So I don’t think you should look for Old Chicago Louisville on the leaderboards Tuesday night, but I’m hoping they’ll have fun and I’ll have a casual group to man six boards when I’m in town for work. So thanks again for the suggestion.
