I travel for a living. One of the reasons why I like Buzztime is that I have met so many of you. So I have a lot of Southwest miles and I give them away to just about anyone. I gave some to a family of complete strangers during Hurricane Irma. I was playing at Phil's a while back and a guy I'd just met mentioned that he had a free cruise if he could get to Puerto Rico. So I opened my Southwest app and passed him my phone. "Put in your information." "You can't be serious." "I'm totally serious. I have plenty of miles." I found out later that he'd paid my bar tab, which probably cost more than the flights. Last Thursday a friend of mine posted on Facebook that he needed an emergency flight to LA, so I texted him, "Give me your information." That night I was playing with GRIFF at Time Out in St. Louis when I decided to go visit the Guido's Nickel guys in Denver. "Crap," I said, looking at my phone. "I'm out of miles." GRIFF opened his Southwest app and passed me his phone. "Put in your information." Thank you, GRIFF, for helping me get to Colorado to see MEZZZ and N B C! Gypsy |
