Unless you are going to MN by way of middle GA I think my "children" are safe! ;)

Well, Ginhed and I played at 8th Street a couple times. Saw a couple players.

Saturday night I posted a 14.8 in CD for a big board win.

Went up to the bar to buy a couple of Crown shots to celebrate.

Some guy playing (albeit badly) said it was because I played a lot and therefore must have seen all the questions, as he had been playing for five years and knew what he was talking about.

A couple of other guys sitting at the bar with him were cool, as were every other Minnesotan we ran into all weekend.

Loudmouth wins the prize for being the dumbest (and rudest) douchebag I've ever met playing trivia, nationwide, in my 17-18 years of NTN experience. And I've run into a LOT of them over the years.

At least we cluttered up the top of their monthly boards for them.

Heh.

Sorry I missed you at 8th Street -- I sent you a PM on the Buzztime site last week, but you might've already been on the road... If I had known for sure that you were there on Friday, I would've stopped in. Let me know if you make it back here sometime.

Most of the Showdown Crew are only there on Tuesday nights and usually BARCA and I are the only two who stay after Speed and play some Countdown and Buzztime -- BARCA more often than me. However, this month we've been playing in a Buzztime tournament at Brothers Bar and Grill (BARCA's other normal site) competing between other Brothers locations on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM, and we've been leaving 8th Street right after Speed. So don't crow too loudly about cluttering up our monthly leaderboards, since that's why they're more sparce than usual this month ;). Feel free to crow about your 14.8 in CD however  .

Do you remember the handle of the obnoxious guy? It doesn't sound like anyone on our Showdown team.

Nah, I didn't pay attention. He was sitting at the bar on the 8th St side, directly in front of the smoker's door. The guy that scores between 5 and 6K in CD. Heh.

There is no way you would let him play on a Showdown team. He would be nothing but a button pusher.

Your bar is pretty cool, except for the Packer crap! Had a few pitchers of Point.

First American pitcher beer I've had in at least ten years. I don't generally do domestics.

Minneapolis seems like a very livable town. The light rail and skywalk must really take the bite out of winter.

Brilliant idea.

Last time I was in Minneapolis ('97) it seemed relatively nice, but man was it cold smoking outside in February! The natives stood there with no coats for a quick smoke, while I fumbled through every piece of clothing I possessed to try to light my cigarette with mittens on over gloves.

I think the wind chill was minus 60.
