This is what they said of the new extended Lunchtime Trivia:

Lunchtime: We're adding an extra hour of Lunchtime Trivia so you can get your bite-sized trivia (and Badges) from 11am to 2pm local time. We are also making Lunchtime Trivia a bit easier. It's your lunch break, and you don't need to be racking your brain. You're welcome!

Bunch of Bull.....there more challenging questions to answer.....I saw 30% pop culture questions today in the 12 games I played.

I'm hoping to get a chance to play Lunchtime next week for the first time in quite a while. Interesting that they are making it more challenging, not less

Second Sunday in a row that a question got 'stuck' and was repeated three times in the same game. This one was regarding who is not in Moby Dick.

Happened last Sunday too, but I forget the question. Does make it easier if you get the question right the first time...EGADS!!!

Well, hell, I whacked away at one for the first time in more than a lil while this past Saturday. I saw lil if any difference from the string of Countdown games that followed. I doubt that I'll drag myself out early enough to bang away at more than a few at most at any time, but IMO any alleged differences are likely due to individual opinions on what we choose to include as pop culture.

Heck, for that matter, I played three Late Shift games on Saturday and saw very few pop culture questions in those games. Granted, it's too small a sample size to draw any conclusions...but it's a head scratcher why they spent all that time/money on graphic re-design when Late Shift is the same game as Buzztime Trivia anyway (at least so far).

Was it the 3:30 EST game (or maybe it was 4:30 EST)? I recall two or three years ago that it happened every Sunday on one game at a specific time where question 5 would repeat for questions 6-15. I think it might have been on the now defunct Sports Network.

Well, perhaps the big change has occurred. yesterday it seemed that I was getting a lot of music questions. I then kept track for four games. Of the 28 questions, 15 were music (including two classical and one opera), five were movies, and one concerned advertising. Almost three quarters pop culture.

Today I played six games. Of the 42 questions, 21 were music (including two classical and one opera, five were movies, and one was media-related. A slightly better ratio, but still unacceptable pop cultuere content, IMNSHO.

I saw that Mitch was playing, but didn't notice any other Scaratings regulars in the Central zone.

After yesterday's fiasco, I complained through the BT website.

One more day of this, and I think I'll rearrange my schedule to avoid LTT.

Charles, I played yesterday for the last hour of eastern LTT yesterday.

Indeed, majority of the content was music/entertainment oriented.

Despite BT's disclaimer, that kinda chit hurts my head.

It hurt most everybody's head. Scores were significantly lower than usual, and you were making the leaderboards every game.

Well, there sure seems to have been an imbalance of Artistic Genius badges in Lunchtime Trivia. Based on my limited amount of playing only Lunchtime Trivia and Countdown , the same could be said for these past couple of days for both. :|

Its hurts the head of who hate pop culture but least it don't hurt the head of those whose brain get racked with Nth degree questions.

Well, hell. After doing more than a lil peeking and poking into my badge records...

April 29 - Einstein, 321; Potpourri, 296; Patriot, 289; Artistic Genius, 229.

April 30 - Einstein 328; Potpourri, 305; Patriot, 296; Artistic Genius, 272.

May 1 - Einstein 334; Artistic Genius, 314; Potpourri, 313; Patriot, 306.

Given that the increase in Artistic Genius (85) is more than the other three categories combined (47), one must conclude that there has been way more than a lil imbalance.

Y'all at Getaway would like it. Too "poppy" for me to do well, but the odd Punk or Wave q makes me feel better.

But, FWIW--there have been days during LTT that the "Theme" of the day isn't music related.

The trouble is, lesser players such as those of us at BWW Farmville can't use this diagnostic method...we're NOT Artistic Geniuses. :(

I concur with your findings, though.

TAKE THIS GAME AND SHOVE IT...I DON'T PLAY IT ANYMORE!

Couldn't resist a shout out to a country music song.

Today I took the bus out to BWW in time for the 2:00 Countdown game. Got there in time to see four questions of the last BT game. Two pop culture, two otherwise.

I know Mitch and a few others prefer the new format, but they won't see much of me playing it.

I did enjoy the four games of Countdown I played!

CD content is as it should be now, so is Late Shift. But the LTT crowd is basically the same as CD, so the content should be similar. Does BT really think 20-something hipsters hit trivia bars during their lunch hour?

Also, why do they think more pop culture = easier content?

But I too am enjoying the CD content, and am playing more CD the two nights I currently bang away.*

Hells bells. After taking Wednesday off and resuming banging away this Thirsty Thursday for way more than a lil while...

May 3 - Artistic Genius, 367; Einstein, 347; Patriot, 324, Potpourri, 322. :(

Even worse, IIRC there was at least one and maybe two times during this day's Lunchtime Trivia games when there was a run of five straight Artistic Genius questions.

May must be "mostly music most of the time month" for Lunchtime Triv.

They might start off with two non-mus questions, then bam bam bam bam bam of all sorts of albums, 80's, hip-hop, even classical. ---> reminding myself to download those Andrea Bocelli albums so I hopefully will know it next time.

Richard (TPG) and I played from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM today at Applebee's Capital Circle in Tallahassee, FL., and the games were very music heavy. The most obvious answer was to the question "Which overweight rapper........"3) Heavy D

The "I didn't know that" questions were "Sandra Oh from Grey's Anatomy is from which country?" Has to be either 3) Japan or 5) South Korea we say. 2) Canada is the correct answer. (She's from Ottawa)

"Karl Wallinger is the leader of which group?" 2) World Party is the correct answer by elimination. Wikipedia says he's the only member. A sole member project a la Moby, etc.

"The sparrow hawk is a" 3) Hawk is the obvious answer as we think Duh. 1) Falcon is the correct answer and our second choice. It's the smallest falcon species. Why don't they call it a sparrow falcon? we quip.
