TIEFLY has two personalities, TIEFLY and BOTFLY.

I have four. That's OK, Sybil had six.

My first one came from where I originally found Buzztime when it was known as NTN, the old Thirsty dog Brewing Company in Fairlawn, Ohio, not far from LeBrion James' mansion.

All of Thirsty Dog's beers were named after dogs, including their fabulous Old Leghumper. Unfiltered Leghumper on tap is to die for, BTW!

When I first saw the game there, two players were playing as MADDOG and BLKDOG. A friend of mine saw me watching the boards, and he said, Don't even think about it, Einstein!" I said "I could kick their asses," and signed up.

I told him "I have to," signed in as BIGDOG, and the rest is history.

My first alter ego was created two years ago after one presidential candidate, who shall remain nameless, wanted to de-fund public broadcasting. Thus, SAVNPR, who rarely plays, was born.

Last year, I became addicted to "Breaking Bad," one of the greatest television shows in the history of television. Thus, HSNBRG was born in tribute to that show. I played in Northfield, Ohio under that name, humiliating my opponents, and a woman who was watching the game said "Heisenberg kills again!"

Most recently, my Russian alter ego came out to play. After a bad day at work, I wanted to tell everyone I came in contact this, so PHUKOV came into being. PHUKOV lis based at Panini's in Independence, Ohio, and the bartenders love the name!

Four email addresses, two of which I never check.

Not a problem for you, Sir. You can let your numbers do the talking.

I once told a young lady that she was so beautiful, another ten years would pass before anyone accused her of having a personality. I was shocked when she agreed. But as she had little interest in baroque old men (I was, like, 38), she unhooked me and threw me back.

For my father's 88th birthday I created a log-in and avatar (GONE D). Although he drinks like a fish and watches Jeopardy! religiously, it turns out WC has little aptitude for the Buzztime format, and lets me use his account, which I can abuse without diminishing his averages. The physical resemblance between my father and a famous South African lawyer of the early 20th C stops at the hairline, or lack thereof.

Amateur pornographers take note: shortly after posting his exquisite response, which to be fair lacks all personality, TIEFLY betook himself to the local fishing hole and within the hour was flashing a 13.5 Countdown. JOHNL, entering today ranked 21st among 600K Countdown accounts, managed to scrape up a 13.3. Mad Jack's, where JOHNL and I were playing, along with RUGCAT and REVE, among the usual suspects, finished 4th as a site. HENRY at Heroes collected back-to-back 15's, that Countdown and the next. Granting Buzztime's many server issues, I suspect that HENRY was benefitting from a second take, where TIEFLY's assets were entirely natural and in no way augmented.

Personality is way overrated.

I know HENRY personally they are more than likely not a second take.

I will see HENRY in a few weeks and I am sure we will put up similar numbers.

I have also played along side of Henry and I don't doubt him for a second. He's that good.

Back to back CD perfectos certainly aren't falling out of the sky, but I'd hardly say they require repeat games to accomplish.

Certainly not for HENRY at any rate...

Well, hell. Those two games had some repeated questions, but they were *not* repeated games.

IMNSHO, someone needs to know what they're talking about before they start making baseless accusations.

I was under the impression that MICE was being humorous with his statement especially after stating TIEFLY's scores were "natural and not augmented". Either that or he's ignorant, but I'm betting on the former.

Trust me, gentlemen, I'm not betting against HENRY, nor anyone at Heroes. I'll estimate that half of my own perfecto's are owing to repeat content. The question was whether TIEFLY, in denying personality, was protesting a defect or a strength. I can't help but notice that the players on this thread are all outstanding. While I don't want to hijack BIGDOG's thread, I'm curious: when you finish a perfect Countdown, is your prevailing sensation one of elation or relief? Personally, I'm happiest when I win with, say, a 13.7. Such victories are entirely unexpected. Where, with a 15, I'm more likely to think, "Whew! No letdowns," and then step outside for a smoke, speculating how swiftly the content crew is going to drop the hammer.

I use five Personalities:

MTCHWF
WLFFLY
TGRWLF
LIONWF
BEARWF

I agree HENRY needs to use his HENFLY more ofter like i do with WLFFLY

Attempting to tease out the hidden meaning in TIEFLY's zen-like pronouncements turns out to have been a really bad idea. BIGDOG, I owe you a drink.

OK, 2 drinks.

Hi!

In the three and a half years since this thread went dormant, I personally have had several sessions in which I've collected back-to-back 15K's playing Countdown. This never, ever occurred in the first eighteen years I played. Whether I was the beneficiary of repeat content I don't recall, except the first time, when I was definitely so blessed. It came as a surprise to me that none of the people who criticized my conjecture regarding repeat content, at the time, took note that my gameplay average was marginally higher than HENRY's.

But I come not to praise HENRY, rather to bury GONE D.

Last May some glitch developed in the Buzztime server at B-52, and a technician came out to repair it. He did, but messed up the aspect ratio (the image no longer fits the screen) and he also deleted a number of accounts, including JOHNL/GOPHER and MICE/GONE D. John called Carlsbad and got his accounts revived. I fiddled around on Buzztime's website and got MICE back, but I couldn't revive GONE D.

In a curious case of nature imitating art, that same month my father, the original GONE D, collapsed on his bathroom floor, and had to be taken by ambulance to hospital, thence to a nursing home. He was a worn-out old dude of 91, and having lived with him for several years I could not but observe that he was circling the drain. He never did come home, but died peacefully in a rented bed in late August.

Oddly enough, though I couldn't play GONE D's account at its home site, the account was cached in at least two other servers, and so I was able to play it at the Tailgate and Bungalow Inn. The last appearance of gameplay for GONE D was June 25. By my inexact reckoning, that's 180 days ago. So tomorrow, the account shouldn't register any gameplay whatsoever. All of GONE D that shall subsist is a ghostly presence on New Scaratings, with irregular hauntings - depending perhaps on the prevailing wind - or the moon.
