In the 90's, from 93 - 98, I always played as Racer. I moved to Galveston, Tx in Aug 98 and started playing at a bar there where a man named Racer (later found out to be Bill Arning, I believe) played and he had a plaque from NTN listing him as the player of the year...so I had to change names. At the time I was a prison doc, so I thought about condoc, and as we did in the old days sent a message to NTN to change my name when it moved my points. Well, NTN made the name CONDOR. I asked the bar at that time what they thought and they all agreed it was better. So Now I tell people it is because I am the ultimate vulture...and I have moved about 10 times since then without NTN screwing it up. I have not changed back because I am too lazy, and after 11 years used to the moniker. To my understanding Racer is still out there in Texas near Houston

Nice to meet you, if only online. Tried to get by your club a couple years ago, but didn't succeed. I'll make it someday. Keep flying the flag, er, tail feathers. CONDOR (the original) Wild Hare Vista, Columbia, S.C.

I have seen many posts in Bad Bart and Scaratings from you.
So who was the original? When did you become Condor?
:D

Bill/RACER in the Houston/Galveston area is still active, and hopefully doing well otherwise. :)

IIRC CONDOR from the Columbia, SC area has been a highly visible player since at least the early/mid 90s. Unless someone else can show otherwise, I'd support his claim as the first.

I have been playing since Feb.'98, CONDOR since app. May that year. LILJOL graced our site, ICABODS OASIS(may it rest in peace), with a visit late in '97, just before my time.I was indeed the first CONDOR. There are over 40 now, but all the rest besides you and I are wannabees who have hardly played since they logged on. As I understand it, under the new system, if your user name and handle are the same, you are the first one of your tribe/ilk. If true, this is an easy way to determine who was first. If anybody gets to the Columbia area, give me a heads up and we'll prepare a reception. Wild Hare Irmo is the only decent trivia bar in the Columbia area, head there. Cheers, CONDOR

You got me by half a year...congrats.

If in Columbia i will stop.

If in Evansville give Old Chicago a try. We have different teams different times...slowly building a showdown team from remnants of Boston's, Docs etc. Now into the top 100 in Showdown most times.

Have a good year, Condor.

From Condor the Second! :D

Sorry, I never played in Louisville. Must be a facsimile of Condor the first from SC or the second from Indiana. :)

Yeah, played at one or the other app. June '06 on my way up to Indianapolis. Didn't have time to scout around much.
