I first discovered NTN in early 2000, when visiting the now-defunct Thirsty Dog Brewing Company in Fairlawn, Ohio.
Most of its beers were named after dogs, such as their Man's Best Friend, Golding's Retriever and the delicious Old Leghumper Porter. While having a pint of Old Leghumper, we observed the onscreen trivia with two players named MADDOG and BLKDOG. I told my friends I could easily drop that level of competition, so for the next game, I signed in as BIGDOG and won easily.
The Thirsty Dog went to the Great Kennel in the Sky around 2005, and I am now on my third site, but the handle lives on.
A decade later, I still wish I could get an unfiltered Old Leghumper on tap while I push buttons!
