Short for Megalon from the 1973 movie "Godzilla vs. Megalon".
My friends call me Magellan and I've given up correcting them.
Someone once asked if I had a big house with a Mega Lawn!

I always said, "Mega natural log of (x)!" when I saw it. Now I know better!
