I made a trip to Knoxville this week and saw for the first time there were more people playing trivia in Knoxville than in Louisville. Which is sad because at one time there were several active trivia sites in Louisville. No more. Louisville is down to a few die hards and most nights you can go to any of the remaining 9 trivia sites (BW3, Old Chicago) and play by yourself. Yes, I left out Bunghole Joes. Not much play there anymore unless you count the wandering Fishman. I guess part of this is a reflection of Buzztime losing their customer base. At one time, Louisville had an active group of players at 6-7 locations. Now it is down to 2 and play is going down at one of those. I pulled up total sites for Kentucky and it is now down to 40 sites with 13 in Northern Ky around Cincinnati, 9 in Louisville and a few left in Lexington, Owensboro, and others scattered in smaller towns. I can see another 3 sites dropping trivia in the near future. Even more disturbing is there are only four active independent sites. Over 75% of the Kentucky sites are chains. If BW3 dropped trivia then Kentucky would be left with around 20 something sites. What puzzles me is Cincinnati is still a mecca for trivia with over 50 sites and Louisville just 80 miles down the road is near death. Sad times.  :(

Me too...

Where and when?

I'm guessing that every night of the week won't work.

Cloudy, you really should private message Dante if you want to
discuss taking showers with him.
I hope that is not what you were talking about. :?

I thought about sending DANTE a private message, but didn't, because Sarah reads them too.

Seriously, you have brought up a real problem for Louisville trivia. Since Friday's and Indigo Joe's closed, we really have no place to gather as a team, and we are scattered all over the place playing by ourselves. I think we need to establish a regular place, where we all get together. Every night is probably impossible, but one night a week might work. The next question is where? I have a suggestion that makes some sense to me. Buffalo Wild Wings in Middletown alread has a very good group of trivia players every Wednesday night to play "Six" as a team. Those players would include Vishnu, Bud, Lobb, and several other good players. Just an idea, and I'm open to other ideas that might be better.

I like all the guys at BW3 Middletown individually, but twice that we've played there and shared answered, they've attempted to sandbag us so their group could win. Kinda spoiled me on wanting to play there.

I really like Old Chicago vis-a-vis how well they treat us, but I'm open to suggestions. I miss seeing you guys.

You left town? :? :P

I have to agree with Dante on this one. Not a big fan of BW3 Middletown more so of the
location, service, noise. Individual players not an issue for me.

Call me crazy (most people do), but I vote we all chip in and cover the expenses of Buzztime for a bar that would like to have a team visit them. I don't know what the monthly expense is (I've heard several different versions), but with as many people as we have in Louisville, it would each be a small percentage to ensure a nice team location

I love that idea.

Just wish that there enough players in my area to act on a plan like that.
