Sad to report that Indigo Joe's closed their doors today 12-27-10. Talked to the owner, but I cannot post anything on this site. Let's just say it was several things that caused them to close. The really sad part is several people are now out of work. Louisville has lost another good trivia site. I hope someone will pick up trivia in this area. I refuse to go to B-dubs on a regular basis.

Guess it will be interesting to see where everyone transfers their accounts. Someone might want to approach Boombazz's to see if they want to pick up trivia.

That leaves Buffalo Wings and Rings and Old Chicago only non-B-dubs places left in Louisville that has NTN.

Maybe try to get Hooters or Applebee's, or even win a lottery and open a big ass sports bar to have Buzztime. LOL

So sorry to hear this. It's always rough to lose a good trivia home.

Actually, the following in Louisville have trivia (assuming the Site Finder is correct):

Sports and Social Club
The Granville Inn
Bearnos (Louisville metro area)
Bungalow Joes

So there are still a few :)

Yeah you right. so if you, Scar and Cards moves to one of those you mentioned, then they go in the top 200 sites list.

I played at Granville before the game tonight. Not a bad place, location not the best. I would go there or Wings and Rings.

I am sad to see a good competitor leave that is so close to home. Good luck.

Post subject:  It was a nice place to play Trivia...

It was a nice place to play trivia. After a brief stormy start, Indigo Joe's began catering to trivia players as well as any place I've played. The bartenders and owner really took care of the trivia players, who came in. They were good people. I didn't make it over there as often as I would have liked, because of the distance from my house.

You guys and gals, who moved over there, and made it your home trivia bar, have a dilemma now. Where do you move to now...? There are still many places in the Louisville area where you can go. However, my thought is that moving to a place that you are pretty sure will most likely always have NTN trivia makes sense. Newer, smaller bars have a disappointing history of having trivia for a while, and dropping it in a relatively short period of time. It will be interesting to see where all the Indigo Joe's trivia players move. You had a great team there, and I loved watching you guys dominate "Sci-Files".

Sorry to see Indigo Joe's go under. Again, it was a nice place to play trivia.

p.s. Hell, I pray that all of you smart guys won't move to Buffalo Wild Wings in Middletown. Damn, if you do, Cloudy will never show up on the local leader board again, and I'll never post another local win... However, If you still share answers, my average scores should move up dramatically.

B-dubs are funny places. You can go into one and have a great time and you can go into another down the street and have the worst time of your life. The last time I was at Middletown was back in the summer. I went in to see a Reds game and asked the server to put it on one of the screens. She actually told me it was not her job. I have not been back since. I have had several bad experiences at B-dubs. They are not my favorite place to play trivia. Springhurst is ok and for some reason the service has always been good. Most B-dubs have servers that are poorly paid and last only a few months. I hope a few local places open up in the east end soon or my playing days will be over.

Well, to say the least, the loss of Indigo Joe's Louisville is not good.

However, given that the original Indigo Joe's has also been closed for some time , one must wonder if this pattern will continue, despite the allegation on their website that they have a number of franchisees signed on. :(

That will leave Indigo Joes Wildwood, MO near St Louis that has Buzztime but best bet that will go too (Buzztime, not the restaurant).

That's too bad. Looks like Louisville is becoming the Las Vegas of the east. Many great trivia players that get moved from bar to bar as they open then close down one after the next. (except for the cursed BWWs of course)

We'll see where you end up Wed night. It will be easy to spot. See you on the boards.

I would say all Indigo Joes will be closed or have changed names by the end of next year. Horrible franchise model will do the rest in. Many that are left are struggling to stay open.

Any Louisville locale that gets your Sci-Files crew will be 76th or so.

I heard about Laclede Street in St Louis stop being open Tuesdays evenings and start rumors of its demise. GRIFF/GLIFF and his Showdown team went to 3 or 4 sites before new management took over and start opening Laclede Street on Tuesday nights again.

So when a group of players like that moves medals to another site, the ranking goes up big time.

I guess it depends on which one you go to. I know a guy from Las Vegas that swears by B-dubs and won't go anywhere else. You may know him, he posts on here every now and then...

Well there are some good ones out there. Like any business if you have a good manager then it usually is a good location to visit. I have had several bad experiences at B-dubs and would take a local site over B-dubs any day.

Thank ye, thank ye. I don't know if I'll play there again next week or not. The parking was horrendous down there, and it was really hard to get service before 9 o'clock (1 server for about 80 people), but we'll see. As always, was a team effort.

Tell me about it, Dante. At times the bartender wait tables and I had wait for refills and/or pay my tab. So between now and next week, Its research time and find out what locale is best for the demands of the Sci-Files crew.

Least Tolle moved Triviapalooza to Bargo's from Huber Heights B-Dubs.
