I saw a question during today's LT that made me laugh. The question was "What would one do with Jagermeister?" The correct answer was "drink it." It was just funny to me because of the simplicity of the question and anwser.

if one of the other choices was "induce vomiting", it wouldn't have been so simple :P

In a Countdown last night (Jan. 28), there was a question something like "The children's game blindman's _______ has been around for centuries." There were five answers beginning with "b", none of which was "bluff". The "correct" answer was "buff", suggesting a game that might have potential. The last clue confirmed that the author had no idea that a mistake had been made. You guessed it: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

By the way, is there a thread somewhere in this forum for question errors needing correction? I always found it one of the more interesting ones to read on the Buzztime forum, and there is no equivalent on their site as far as I can tell. I know that they have a complex form that one can find by a series of non-intuitive links from the blog, complete and submit, without knowing if dozens of others had done the same or not, and without any expectation of learning whether or not it was ever read or acted upon. The forum was especially good at dealing with these, because the brain trust would often refine them or point out reasons why the proposed correction was not needed.

That's a repeat. I remember it from a while back.

When I was a child (in Appalachia), we always called it "blind man's buff". I don't know why.

I have been corrected for calling it "bluff" sometime in the past. I agree that "buff" is correct.

This confirms the value I mentioned of having an errors thread exposed to the brain trust. I had never before heard of Blind Man's Buff, so presumed that it was just a spelling error. A little research shows that it is usually "buff" in Britain and Ireland, and "bluff" in America. Thanks for enlightening me!

Yep. Very good to know. Of course, I think maybe Pink Pig or someone corrected it last time someone put it up on the old Buzztime forums, and I read it and promptly forgot it.

/that or someone at our bar looked it up and I forgot it
