Well, hell. Might as well throw this one out there...

Which NFL franchise in the 1950s & 60s had two head coaches with the same nickname? Extra credit for naming both.

Well, I was waiting for someone else to jump on this one but...
It has to be the San Francisco 49ers. 8-)

As for the extra credit, I don't think it was Red Skelton or Red Buttons. All I got is Red Hickey.

THE ICEMAN does it. Image The other 49er coach was Norman "Red" Strader. Howard "Red" Hickey has his place in football history as the innovator of the shotgun formation. 8-)

I've been out of commission for a while...

Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria decreed in 1516 what is generally regarded to be the world's first consumer protection law.
What was it?

Endlich! (We finally leave the sports questions!) That was the Reinheitsgebot, or German Beer Purity Law. Crippling German brewing for five centuries.

I'll stick with the German beer theme:

What traditional German-style beer is consumed from a "Stange," which is served from a "Kranz?" (And also won Stewart's Brewing Company Golds at both the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival in 2008!)

Well, it looks like there's more love here for the endless sports questions than for beer questions. I'll throw out this hint and see if anyone gets it. This is what a Kranz full of Stangen looks like:

Koelsch. The answer's Koelsch, the traditional beer of Cologne. It's a cold-fermented ale, a rarity in general and one of the few non-lager beers enjoyed in Germany.

Floor's open. I look forward to another round of sports questions.

Sorry, needed a bigger pic to be able to tell... (Wouldn't it be ''Kölsch'' ?)

Ask and ye shall receive...

Here's a lil hint...
It was Rick Monday drafted by the Kansas City Athletics from Arizona State University.

Well, hell. How about a music question? :o

Which famous university's marching band was in both "Grease" and "The Naked Gun: From The Files Of 'Police Squad'"?

I'm pretty sure the band was from USC. If that's correct, I'll post a follow-up question by the end of today.

Yep. Image

FWIW, the clue would have been...*not* that marching abomination from that eternally damnable junior university. Image

What do Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Guyana, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Namibia, New Zealand, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Suriname, Taiwan, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, and the United States have in common? This is not an exhaustive list, but covers most of the countries with this criteria.

I'll give a hint in 24 hours or so.

Going on the few I know for sure, I'm going to guess that they all use the dollar as currency.

OK: The famous ancient Greek polymath Eratosthenes of Cyrene was given a Greek-letter nickname. Which letter was it?

The correct letter wins the question, but for extra credit, why did they use that letter?

I thought the 1 in 24 chance would solicit at least a few guesses, but I guess that's the kind of systemic risk that comes with this thread. Maybe I should have put the question through a last round of testing before posting it.

Nice stab, but incorrect.

Hint: my previous post contains a couple of different clues.
