4th time I try this. HOPEFULLY it'll work this time

Out of boredom, I am starting a new thread. Another trivia thread, but this time, with a twist. The answers are posted with the questions.

To do this, I have to hide the text of the answer. I have figured out the two colors that are used for the background of the message boxes. The trick will be to change the font color of the answer to match the background color, thus making the answer appear invisible. To find the answer, simply highlight, or click the mouse button and drag over the body of text to see the answer. By the way, if you want to post one yourself, the font colors to use to hide the text are ECECEC and DCE1E5, the first one is the lighter of the two background shades, and is used on odd-numbered messages. If someone can find an easier trick to hide text, PLEASE post it.

The game is called Wanted, Dead or Alive. It stems from way too many bar discussions as to if a Hollywood star or other celebrity is still with us, or has passed. Your task is to guess if the following people are….well…dead or alive. If you want to post, there are no rules, but personally I will try to do a theme containing 5-10 names every week or so. If anyone finds the nature of this game offensive, please contact Dante and he will remove the thread. Thanks
Here’s an easy one to start. The Seven Mercury astronauts

Alan Bartlett Shepard Jr., Freedom 7 Dead (1923–1998)
Virgil Ivan (Gus) Grissom, Liberty Bell 7, Gemini 3, Apollo 1 Dead (1926–1967)
John Herschel Glenn Jr., Friendship 7, STS-95 Alive (born 1921)
Malcolm Scott Carpenter, Aurora 7 Alive (born 1925)
Walter Marty (Wally) Schirra Jr. Sigma 7, Gemini 6A, Apollo 7 Dead (1923–2007)
Leroy Gordon Cooper Jr. Faith 7, Gemini 5 Dead (1927–2004)
Donald Kent (Deke) Slayton, Apollo-Soyuz Test Project Dead (1924–1993)

Wasn't the Remote Control category "Dead or Canadian?". By the way, Ken Ober is dead, rest his funny soul.

Dead or Alive and Dead and Canadian were both on the show.

Loved that show. Still remember "Sing Along With Colin" and the question "If you were going to buy gloves as a gift for Def Leppard, how many would you need to buy?"

Working on the next batch of questions, but need some help. First, maybe because I'm sober right now, but I can't think of any cool topics that would blend an even mix of living and deceased people. Second, I am working on a strange one, but need some help from the viewing audience. Please send me a personal message with topic suggestions, and also please send me a PM with notable events in Olympic history, such as Bob Beamon’s record long jump.

Thanks
