In an effort to get more "trivia" onto the forum, and to help me remember the questions I keep missing, I'm starting a thread about questions that I've missed more than once...usually for the same stupid, faulty reasoning. I'm sure a few of y'all also have missed a question more than once, also, so feel free to pitch in your favorites.

This question cost me a 10K game last night. I'm not sure if it has cost me a 10K game in the past, but I know I missed it before.

Paraphrased Q: The Confederancy renamed this resurrected ship (name escapes me) and christened it the: _____________.

The correct answer was the Virginia.

For the life of me, I keep choosing Hartford. Why the south would name a ship after a town in the north, I have no idea, but I know I've selected Hartford at LEAST twice, maybe more.

As I add to this thread, I know it will be filled with car questions, reality show questions and any/all James Bond & Woody Allen questions that I keep missing, but maybe it will help me not to chug so many beers out of frustration when they pop up!

The CSS Virginia was the former USS Merrimack, rebuilt as an Ironclad.
The Hartford was Admiral Farragut's flagship in the Civil War battles of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Natches, Vicksburg, and Mobile.
She survived everything the Confederates threw at her. "Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead".

We keep missing that question about which game was invented in the 1970s? I think the answer is Simon. Every time the answers come up, the rest of the team wants to pick Trivial Pursuit. And then someone will say, "No, it's not Trivial Pursuit, that's what we picked last time"

Maybe we'll finally remember it now.

Ironic that you would forget a question about Simon :D

I can't remember the questions I miss the 2nd or 3rd time around. That is why I continue to get them wrong.

Edward Teller was born in Hungary. Not sure who Otto Hahn is/was, but I seem to think he's Hungarian for some reason. I wonder if Otto had a mustache like Al Hrabosky...EGADS!!!

"tiefly" has never won a horse race. Not only did I miss the question, but I lost money betting on him.

When that question appeared and one of my teammies thought that "tiefly" might be the answer, I emphatically called him off it. During the factoid, I explained why. ;)

I don't remember the question, but last night, Thursday Dec 29, one of the choices was 'Tiefly'. One of the players actually chose it as the correct answer. I had to call him off it.

Apparently he isn't acquainted with Tiefly. :o

The Western Corderilla (sp?) is located where?

North America....not bleeding Europe. Part of the fricking Rockies.

When the question came up, I said "The US"...still picked Europe....AGAIN!!!

Piano means "soft" in Italian. At least 3 times missing this question.

Adding musical questions to the list of cars, Woody Allen, and reality TV in regards to question subjects that just make me stare at the screen, since I miss all the questions about musical terms.
