The Topix for the coming month:

    April 1 - Movie Fools
    April 7 - Rainy Places
April 8 - Cats and Dogs
    April 14 - Restaurant Chains
April 15 - Songs About Food
    April 21 - MLB Players
April 22 - Famous TV Lines
    April 28 - China
    April 29 - Folk Rock

Actually, I like all of the Thursday Topix this time around, although I strangely look forward to 4/7.

Any Friday Topix fans out there want to swap "MLB Players" for "Cats and Dogs?" BT will do that for us, right?

I will be in Blighty most of the month but only 4/28 will cause me a touch of regret I missed the games. Not a good list for me. I assume 4/8 will be cats and dogs in movies and TV but mildly curious to see if it's more generic and I will still be here so may give that a shot if I head bar-ward that night, and kill it if PC based (and of course assuming no other players).

Nothing here I'm really excited about, but nothing I want to avoid, either. The Famous TV Lines game might be enough to bring me out for a rare Friday night of trivia, since it's Good Friday and I won't have bowling that night

I would be surprised if there were not a few. I like all the April Topix and surprisingly even the Friday games.

Anyone notice that the royal wedding is April 29th? I can almost ;) guarantee you that one of the questions from the 4/28 game will be:

Which china pattern did Kate choose?

Be very afraid!

Hopefully, they'll be wise enough to recognize their #1 customer.

I enjoyed tonight's Topix. We were short a few players, with Al/TWIT being on vacation and Richte and Tim opting to not play tonight, but the Mill was still either 3rd or 4th. I played two boxes, Rikr played one, and Redram played two.

At least three questions seemed to regard places that weren't particularly rainy, in particular the Rainy Lake question; I believe that area only gets about 25 inches per year. And which city is not on Puget Sound (it was Spokane, which certainly is not a rainy place.) And Manchester may be "Rain City" in England, but having checked the WMO's website, they really don't get all that much - about 30 inches. The one I threw away was the country where the place (started with T) recently had 1,000 inches of rain in one year. It was Colombia; I should have jumped on that and instead got it for only about 250. I knew that the Colombian west coast is one of the rainiest places in the world.

Anyway, I enjoyed the questions, and I found the game to be a challenge.

As I should have expected, Cats and Dogs was about cats and dogs from recent movies and television shows.

Good luck trying to get in to play anywhere in the Chicago area with the Bulls and Blackhawks playoff games going on the same night.

It can be no worse than trying to play in any sports bar in Connecticut last month on any night that the Huskies were playing! As for the Blackhawks, good luck to them, but I think this is the Canucks' year.

Did anyone play the MLB Topix game tonight? The computer at Diamond Lil's went down and we did not get to play. my Whitesox and Redsox teamies would like to know what some of the questions were. I am just a poor little cubbie.

Yes, we played it at Adams Mill. Tim (tchoinere) carried our group, as expected. It was a good mix of modern ball players versus Hall-of-Famers.

Which player once refused to pitch on Sundays?

Which position did Lou Boudreau play?

Which current ball player has won three batting titles?

Which current player has won a Gold Glove in each of his first 10 seasons.

What is Robinson Cano's uniform number?

Those are all that I can currently remember.

Thank You, SiDave will appreciate it. I think he grew up near there. I know he has played at Adams Mill.

I think that last question had to do with the wording inscribed on his statue at PNC Park.

[The above was in error, as I have just seen his HoF picture. Thanks Tim for pointing this out.]
