I saw that Hebrew was misspelled as Nebrew. I hope that's the only one.

Many sources have 1993 but many others say 1991. It seems as if it was unofficial in 1991 and became official in 1993. I do find many articles about how Eritreans are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their independence this year, so 1991 is good enough for me.

Yes, Nebrew was what I was thinking of.

Thanks for checking into Eritrea.

Actually, Hess didn't die of old age. He committed suicide when he was 93 years old.

Checking out these forums for the first time in a while...

I guess no one was playing a lunchtime game on Saturday, 5/21. At least there's nothing about it here.
In the 12:15 PM Eastern game, one of the questions (IIRC) was about what city tornadoes could form south of, or something to that effect. The answer was Detroit. The factoid claimed it was the southernmost city in Canada! Oh really? Maybe that's the same universe where Saturn is the second planet from the sun (Anybody remember that one?!). Just thought someone might like to know!

Hmm. We also get plenty of tornadoes in Minnesota, so I guess they can also form north of Detroit, Ontario. Or is it Windsor, Michigan? ;)

This is not an incorrect answer but I really can't find a better place for this...

On a Buzztime Trivia game this evening (around 7 pm ET), was this question: "Computer output, which is printed on paper, is known as:" The answer is "hard copy", and BT did get this right.

But the commas in the question should have been removed. Computer output is not necessarily sent to paper, but the commas in the question imply otherwise.

It wasn't tornadoes - it was Toronto! The question was:

TORONTO LIES AT A MORE
SOUTHERN LATITUDE THAN
ALL OF THESE CITIES
EXCEPT:

The fact was:

ON AN ARM THAT EXTENDS
INTO THE GREAT LAKES, IT
IS ONE OF CANADA'S
SOUTHERNMOST CITIES.

I did rewrite the fact so it couldn't be interpreted as referring to Detroit.

Good point. I removed the commas.

In the Tuned In game, The question is "What TV character was played by Catherine Bell in "J.A.G."?. Sarah "Mac" Mackenzie is indeed the answer, but the factoid claimed that Mackenzie was added when "J.A.G." moved from CBS to NBC. It should said From NBC to CBS

In today's Spotlight game, there was a question about REO's "Can't Fight This Feeling".
The factoid said the song was from 1982 - the single was released in 1985 (album was released in 1984)

In the Topix game tonight, what 21st century movie contains "The Beer Song?"

Answer: (1) South Park Movie.. The movie was 1999, not quite 21st century.

I have no idea what is wrong with this question, but something is really wrong. That song was never in any episode. Can I get the full question, please?

You're right. 1982 has been changed to 1985.

You got the question right, and it is wrong in so many ways. I have no clue what the writer was thinking. :?

In the 7pm CD, what site opened on the centennial of Washingtons Inauguration in 1889? Answer was GW Bridge but correct answer is Washington Square Arch. The bridge opened in 1931.

Funny part was me ignoring teammates and going with GW Bridge having seen it in the past. They ignored me then I had a perfect score for CD. Should get an asterisk next to my gold....

This isn't an incorrect question submission, rather a suggestion concerning a question in CD today ~530c.

Q: Which planet is also know as Earth's twin?

1. Saturn
2. North Star
3. Pluto
4. The Moon
5. Venus

2 of the 5 choices are actually planets! Is it really too much to ask when a question asks for something specific, such as a planet in this case, that all the choices are actually planets?

The reason I bring this up is because more and more questions have irrational throwaway answers. This is trivia, not the Comedy Channel. One joke answer a day is OK, but 10 joke answers a game is just silly.

My two cents.

On the flipside, my teammates and I were raving about the quality of the questions last night in STC. Even the ones we didn't know! :D

And considering one of the choices, the Washington Monument opened the year before in 1888, well, not sure if that's a good distractor.

Funny thing is, I insisted to our team there's no way the monument is correct, as I thought it was completed shortly after the Civil War. And after eliminating the others (rightly or wrongly) firmly stated that the answer had to be the bridge! Not sure if I'm going to own up to all this next Tuesday!

I'm curious how much longer people who live in cities will know what the North Star is. Can't even really see any stars at my house any longer due to lighting/pollution.

During today's Six in the final Round, what hinged feature on an aircraft is used to stabilize theplane? This is paraphrased so please correct me if I am misquoting it.

It came down to rudder or aileron. Both are legitimate answers but aileron is the better answer. Answer was rudder. Both of them should not have been listed.

The question specified vertical stabilization (rudder), not horizontal (aileron).

Note to self: Read the whole question next time...Thanks. We missed a very key word in a bad game of Six for us...
